| Went to a gun show in Illinois yesterday, and what do to you know, I ended up dropping $974 on an authentic, ww2 M1 carbine. There was a one day waiting period, and now I'm on my way to pick it up....any thoughts? After field stripping it and cleaning it, I should be shooting it by the end of the day today. I'll share my experiences when I get back in town, I don't have Internet connection at my ranch. Any thoughts? | |

| Mine had a lot of jamming issues which i couldn't get anyone to fix so i traded it in for a SKS. When it fired though it was a really fun and nice gun to shoot, wouldn't mind buying one again if the price was right.
@Wolf
Standard mag is detachable and holds 15 .30 cal Carbine rounds. There is a 30 round mag out there as well that the M2/M3 Carbines used since they were selective fire. | |

| Congrats, my friend! I've always liked the M1 Carbine, it's an excellent rifle. Somebody remind me; does the M1 Carbine fire .45 or 30-06? | |

| Yeah. The other two aren't rifle rounds, they're other carbine rounds. | |

| It seemed like you were shocked at how big the .30 carbine cartridge was, so I clarified by saying it isn't the same size as a rifle round. The two rounds next to the silver one are other carbine rounds, not like a 5.56 or something. | |

| Not the size but the different style of bullet it was....I figured it would shoot the regular .30 cal round to cut down on cost to manufacture. | |

| Unrelated, but do you realize the M3 "Grease Gun" was built using parts found in a plumbing shop and could be manufactured for under $5? | |

| I know, I hope they run to every plumbing shop in the US and seize every pipe and welder's torch. | |
