Hello rifleman,
As a rifleman/assault trooper you are the least appreciated and most useful soldier on the battle field. without you no team could be truly effective yet for some reason no one ever brags about being a rifleman. Well I am here to give you help in becoming a better rifleman and continuing to dominate the battle field.

1. The Basics
a. What is a rifleman?
b. What makes a rifleman effective?
c. What gear does a rifleman carry?
2. Tactics
a. Rifleman's role
b. Movement Under Fire
c. Ambushes
d. Attacking a position
e. Defending a position

Section One

Part A
A rifleman is your basic soldier, they work in a squad and usually make up the bulk of an airsoft team. Most airsoft players are riflemen when they first begin and some deviate to another specialty. A good squad will always have talented riflemen as a base.

Part B
A rifleman is made effective by his flexibility. A rifleman can easily adapt from different situations, far better than any other soldier. for example if you were doing a longer range firefight a sniper would be useful but in a CQB situation practically useless. A rifleman however may not be as good at range as a sniper but he(or she) could easily transfer to CQB. This flexibility allows a rifleman to be competetive and useful almost anywhere. Rifleman may not be as good at certain tasks as a specialized role but they are capable in all areas. They are the Mario of airsoft.

Part C
A rifleman may carry many different things due to his flexibility. One thing a rifleman will always have is a flexible and capable rifle. Along with the rifle the rifleman usually carries many magazines so he will never be without ammunition.
Common guns are
-M16s
-M4s
-AK47/74s
-MP5s
-G36s

Section Two

Part A
The rifleman's role is to do whatever he can to assist his squad. Simple as that.

Part B
Moving under fire is one of the most basic and important things to do in airsoft. Basically you and your squad must leap frog from position to position until you have a good position to properly return fire and engage. For example soldier A, B and C are trying to advance but an enemy support gunner has them held down. They are afraid that they will soon be flanked so they decide they must move. Soldier A and B start firing at the enemy to cause them to take cover. As soon as the enemy stops firing solder C dashes forward to cover. Soldier C then begins firing and soldier A continues while soldier B runs for cover. The team continues this rotations until the can make a manuver to take down the enemy gunner.

Part C
In airsoft ambushes are a common strategy. There are to basic types of ambushes. These are known as the L ambush and the V ambush.
This is the L ambush you must move from hiding on one side of the road into the position shown below

This is the V ambush you must move from hiding on both sides of the road into the position shown below

Part D
When you are attacking a position as a rifleman you will be the head of the team. You will be the closest to the enemy while support gunners lay down fire for you to move under and snipers or DMs pick of enemies. If you have a grenadier you must bring him close enough to be effective at removing the enemies and if not you must use a mixture of precision and heavy fire to eliminate the enemy.

Part E
When you are defending a position as a rifleman you will be covering the sides and providing a mix of precision and heavy fire to repel and eliminate the enemy. Often times you will be outside of the position so the enemy will have to be at even greater length and if necessary you can fall back to more fortified areas. My advice is to start out very far and slowly retreat into better cover so the enemy will be hindered in their movement and you will always be able to fall back. In airsoft ground is nothing but a place to make a kill from so never be afraid to fall back.

More will be coming

Never never never do a v ambush that gives the all too likely chance of friendly fire
ONLY USE L shaped and Linear ambush formations
-rarely use L cuz the OPFOR has no guarantee of going the way you want them to come into the trap. + the units that are right in front of the OPFOR will most likely get killed too
