PostSubject: A tactic guide.   A tactic guide. Icon_minitimeSun Oct 26, 2008 3:43 pm

Warning

This post is extremely long and includes many details. I hope you don't get bored while reading this. With that said here we go!
PART 1
1.The definitions of the word tactic

A:tactic(method-wise)- a conceptual action used by a group or unit of people to achieve a specific adjective.

B:tactic(military term-wise)-"The level of war at which battles and engagements are planned and executed to accomplish military objectives assisted to a tactical unit or task forces. Activities at this level focus on the ordered arrangement and manuever of combat elements in relation to each other and to the enemy to achieve combat objectives."

2.The kinds of tactics

A: Tactical Fieldwork
Revetting
Foxholes

B:Tactical Commands
Ambushes
Maintaining Recons
Exploiting night

C:Tactical positions
High ground
Fanning out-(this refers to you and your teammates spread apart from each other so you all wont be shot up at once)

3.Tactical patrolling

A:Tactical patrolling rules
-Never walk down an obvious road, it may be watched, booby trapped, or ambushed.
-Never go through the front door in a house if there's a side window.
-Never blindly pursue a fleeing enemy, especially in close quarters.
-Never poke your head over a wall if you look around the side.
-Never leave an objective the same way.
-Maintain optimal spacing.
-Remain invisible and silent.
-Always think defensively, especially when stopped.
-Be sure to avoid patterns.

4.Tactical Equipment

-Camoflauge
-Airsoft Gun
-Airsoft Grenade
-Backpack
-Emergency supplies
-Holsters
-Hydration System
-Radio
-Scopes/lasers/optics
-Vests
-Gloves
-Eye wear
-Compass
-Knee Pads
-BB's

5.How to take down a sniper

-Firstly, never walk into the middle of a field/road/stream
-If spotted by a sniper and shot at, don't just shoot randomly it makes the sniper more easily to hit you.
-If shot at and possibly missed at go prone, and look, listen, and smell. This will help you pinpoint the sniper.

6.Sniper Tactics and Guidelines

-Remember slow=smooth and smooth=fast
-Stick to the shadows
-Keep your head down due it being your easiest part of your body to spot
-Do NOT hide in trees
-Use hand signals or microphones if talking to your spotter or comrades
-Get a ghillie suit or you can make one. If you make it then it will take 7+ hours. This will help you
-Be sure to have a side-arm at all times
-Use .20 gram BBs at least. Just remember the heavier the BB is the more accurate the gun is. The only drawback is it's just less range for the gun.
-When you choose a spot to snipe from be sure to plan 2 or 3 escape routes
-Buy extra magazines for your side-arm
-A basic way to test your skills as a sniper is to wait an hour in the woods. This shows you have the patience to be a sniper.
Here's a link to a good site that show's how to be a sniper. http://www.wikihow.com/Be-an-Airsoft-Sniper

PART 2
The definitions of the tactics

A:Ambushes- Here's the three steps to making an ambush:

Step 1- Plan your ambush-To plan it, you must figure out how many enemies there are, so you can know when and where to ambush them.

Step 2-Preparing your ambush-After planning your ambush you need to prepare it as soon as possible. The leader should then send recons to find out when the enemy is coming. If this is done you need to use radios. Then all you need is foxholes and wait for the enemy.

Step 3-The ambush-When the time does happen and the enemy comes,by the leader needs to give a signal to fire on the enemy or it will be all chaous on your part.

B:Maintaining Recons
If you are going to maintain recons you need to remember this when you tell your leader
A-A report of information
S-Size- How many enemies there are
A-Activity- What they are doing
L-Location-The location of the enemy(It's best if you give coordinate marks if you can)
W-What-What you saw on the enemy
T-Time-When you saw the enemy
E-Equipment-What they were carrying

C:Exploiting night
-You can buy night vision goggles to see easier in the night.
-Scan, don't stare. This helps you see more due to not being focused on just one thing.

D:Revetting
-You can place a layer of stone/concrete/bricks/supporting material in front of you as support so you wont be seen. This can be used when ambushing.

E:Foxholes-Here's a way to build foxholes:
1.Find the right spot
2.Dig real deep
3.Add bunker parts(ex: a slanted roof)
4. Put hay/grass/bark/weeds/surrounding natural vegetation, on top of the roof. This also can be used when ambushing.

Extra suggestions

Q:How do you remain invisible and silent?
A:For patrolling the best way to remain invisible and silent is to put cotton into your BB loader so it won't jingle or you can go buy some extra magazines. If stepping on leaves the best way to make the least amount of noise is to step with the ball of your foot(the bottom of it) and slowly release the weight until you can set your foot down. Lastly, remember the faster you go the more the more you might miss something.

Q:What if you find a completely awesome and amazing vantage point? Do I prone with my side to make sure the enemy sniper doesn't come stumbling along?
A:Firstly, I would avoid that spot due to the fact that the sniper is probably watching the area due to it being so good. I would recommend choosing the spot in which the sniper is not going to look for at first.

Its ok. there are a few holes. for example it isn't called spacing, its called fanning out. same difference
as for knee pads, you need mil-spec so they don't slide down to your shin while your running.
How do you remain invisible and silent?
What if you find a completely awesome and amazing vantage point? Do I lie prone with my side to make sure the enemy sniper doesn't come stumbling along?
How would you tactically place a grenade to do the most damage?

just some questions to consider in part II

Nice.

aprt from 'fast=slow, slow=fast' because that literally makes NO sense. I think you may have meant slow is smooth, smooth is fast?

Question does spending 48 hours in the same spot in the woods count the same as your one hour patience test?
