| Um, im still new to airsoft and i have been wondering what ill find when i take my airsoft gun apart. Can anybody tell me how an airsoft gun works, I understand the basic principals but some things i don't get, Pictures would be nice! | |

| This should do The trigger makes the battery send power to the motor, which turns the gears that compress the spring. When it's all the way back, the spring releases and pushes the piston forward, which pushes air out of the air nozzle. The air compresses and pushes the BB out. It's more complicated then that of course, but that's about as good as I can explain it. | |

| Oh I see.. What in particular do you still need to know? Hmm I can explain how the hopup works:
The wheel adjusts a thingy that presses the hop-up bucking into the hole in the inner barrel. The topside of the BB hits the part of the bucking that is showing through, and makes the BB spin backwards. This spin makes the air around the BB move at different speeds, which causes lift that can fight off gravity for a short time. | |

| yeah, I got that from taking apart spring rifles and pistols, I just want to get to know AEGs a little better so when i get one and decide that im bored one day and want to take the gear box apart, I at least know whats in there, and its always nice when looking at the price of upgrades. | |

| Yeah, I have a much better understanding of airsoft guns now, I watched one of those videos from Evike about a month ago, but im still not sure if im ready to take it apart yet. | |

| Don't take the gearbox apart unless you really need to. Unexpected things can happen and you'll have a problem on your hands. Believe me, I speak from experience. | |
