and to AFU im not to keen on the RA that we have im more interested in the VDV the russian airbourne troops purely for their faith and the love they have in their motherland sure if they didnt fight the enemy then there own men would shoot them lol...

but time after time when they could have given up they didnt (though they could of done a little bit better...)

well, in all honesty it's unfair to compare the Marines to the RA. Because they don't even serve the same function.

I can't think of the incident at the moment, but in American history there was an incident where we sent the navy seals to do a job that should have been given to the Marines, the end result was the unnecessary death of many navy seal members where the Marines would have succeeded.

The same is true with the RA, they are trained to do a job, take them away from that job to do something different and they won't do as well.

thats why our army is divided everyone is good for some things but our marines deal with all of what our other soldiers do but it depends purly on what branch they want to break of and practise at, but your right so im going to just say that every countrys armys has its perks and its drawbacks

To be honest instead of comparing allies forces why don't you start comparing US Forces to china, russia, india, pakistan (if it goes very wrong), ect....becouse if we don't find more oil the next war will be over nat resources (including fresh water) And nations such as china and india have MASSIVE populations

true i agree with what the next war will be over but regardless about the population you just have to worry who will use the atomic bombs first becuase they will be a time when a country will get desperate and at some point fire them

Honestly? I think long range missiles are becoming outdated the reason? Manny nations have build large missile defense networks and some nations, including the US, have laser defense technology to destroy incoming missiles by heating them till they break apart. The main danger i think comes from a weapon like that being smuggled into a nation....and agian that can be handled with inspections and modern detection technology. With technologies like that available i think it will come down to the individials armys ability to neutralize a nations defense networks, allowing for long range missile attacks and aircraft to enter

Would be the hydrogen bomb, namely, Tsar Bomba. Estimated at 100 megatons, but scaled down to 50. It was the biggest man-made explosion this Earth has ever seen.

but with every new prevention there is a way to get around it eventually. with the advancement in technologies im sure that missiles will avoid the radar or anything along those lines

Believe it or not, the atomic bomb prevented world war three, and for you japanese out there, it prevented Russia from invading you.

It was widely assumed that after Germany and Japan were beaten, Russia and America would launch WWIII with each other (And it more than likely would have happened). Russia had plans to invade Japan in order to obtain territories in the orients. By dropping the Atomic bomb we accomplished several things.

First, we ended the war with Japan, thus preventing Russia from declaring war with them.
Secondly we flexed our muscles with Russia. We basically told them, hay look what we can do. You want war? Then we will drop one of these babies on you. After that, the H-bomb is helping to prevent many wars because everyone is afraid of it's use.


But sadly you are right. It may come from another country or from a terrorist movement, but eventually, and relatively soon, I also believe a bomb will be detonated.

Nah India and Pakistan has been at it for ages...Dragon theres a region of Georgia called South osicka..sorry for bad spelling, that wanted to be part of russia, gerogia didnt want it so they send in some troops to keep order, the south oscetians then asked russia for help and the russians went in with a full out invasion of that area.

They did, about a year ago. They took all of North Osettia. A lot of people thought that was going to start WWIII.
