| Hey guys, I am looking to buy myself a new AEG, and am confused by the battery types. 1. What does it mean when the battery is Large Type? Does this refer to the size of the different cells? 2. What does it mean when the battery is Small Type? " " " " " I.e. " the large handguard can accommodate the 8.4v large battery." 3. What different types of connecters are there? This one is gun specific. 4. Will this lipo fit this gun ? Sorry for being such a newb, i usually deal with springers hehe *EDIT* Will i need a battery adaptor if i use the lipo? Such as this? NOTE, scroll to the bottom to see the adaptors. | |

| There's also a Deans connector i think but i don't know much about except that it offers better voltage flow i believe. Large batteries usually mean they are bigger in size yet have more Mah capacity. Same with small batteries but with the opposite applied. That Li-Po should work fine in the KWA and all KWAs have a small connector i believe so an adapter shouldn't be needed. | |

| Generally, the batt itself uses a male and the gun uses a female | |

| 1. Large type generally means the battery is just bulkier and it has the large connector. These are usually used in full-stock guns that have lots of battery space.
2. Small type generally means the battery is less bulky than large types and it fits into small places like tight handguards and smaller full stocks. They use the miniature connector.
Larger batteries usually last longer, so you can play a full day of airsoft without worrying about the battery.
There's other types of batteries besides large and small, (e.g. butterfly, nunchuck, tri-panel, etc) that are of coursed shaped much differently, but most of them use small type connectors. | |

| So does the male connector go in female? or is it the other way around? | |

| Haha, Epic explanation, Drummer. Yes, the male goes into the female connector. Just like a wall socket. | |

| Lets put some of the comments to bed, and give some correct answers ! The difference between Small and Large type batteries is just not the size or bulk, the difference that matters is the capacity ( MaH ). All your batteries come in the same voltage output, be they small or large type, the Mah is what has the biggest affect on the player, the larger the Mah, the longer the playing time on the same gun. Small Type Batteries Large Type 7,2V, 1500Mah 7,2V, 3500Mah 8,4V, 1700Mah 8,4V, 4200Mah 9,6V, 2000Mah 9,6V, 4800Mah and so on............. Players choose their type of battery depending on Taste, Type of Games Played, Recharge Capabilities, Gun Lay out. Some Players want to keep their guns `` Clean ´´, no IPEQ, Battery Bad, they normaly stick to small type, Mil-Sim or Long Event Players go with Large ( Limits the ammount of batteries that you have to drag around, same goes for players that are in day events with no recharge capabilities. Connectors, There are all kinds on the market, Tamiya, Deans, Stereo, and all the clones, the Size of the connector is self explanatory, Small/Large, the other connectors are Brand Names and have their advantages or dis-advantages depending on the maker. IMHO, Deans are the best that you can install, almost zero resistance ( Mah Loss ), no loose connections, easier to unhook or hook during limited visibility, impossible to connect wrong. - Quote :

Stick, Nunchuck, Butterfly................Are not Types of Batteries, those are configurations, they all come in large or small type. Depending on how you want the batteries installed, or have/make room for, they can all be used for every AS Replica.

| So there is a battery store near my house, and i was wondering if anybody uses custom built batteries? I can get them custom-configured for a low price, and airsoft batteries are the same as all batteries anyways right? | |
