| I bought an old chest rig a while back, and I just found it tonight. The person I got it from said it was a Vietnam Paratrooper's Chest Rig. It looks pretty cool (although it is nothing I would ever use), and I decided to show you all and see what you think. (It may very well not be what I was told it was, I personally doubt it, but It does seem to be from around that time) Anybody know what it is? Front, Closed Front, Open Back, Open | |

| It's a LBV (Load Bearing Vest). Nothing really special about it and it was not exclusive to para units or anything. It's basically just the updated tactical vest over the ALICE load bearing setup and the precursor to modern MOLLE/PALS gear. It is also not from Vietnam, LBVs were introduced around the late 80s i believe. | |

| I used to have one, but I traded it for a couple of dollars and a barrel condom. It's a 1st Generation US Army LBV. | |

| Thanks guys. I think I might keep it just in case a friend loses or forgets a vest for a game. | |
