Haha +1 I'm glad, ACU looks stupid. I like desert MARPAT but MC is a lot better in my opinion. Too darn expensive though.

+1 the velcro pouches on my multicam annoy the heck out of me. Its great for patches but for pouches I want bungie or a good ole button. srsly

Hey this means the price of ACU is about to plummet! Grab your cash wads and head to a susplus store!!!
Any word on when they really start turning out the MC to all corners of the US-A?

| actully it's been in the prosses since our troops get to choose what camo they want using a clothing alowance to buy all there gear. many units choose MC over ACU but this also gives them less money to buy there other things such as pouches and stuff so it's kinda a fight would we rather wear acu and be move visable and have more goodies or be less visable and forget somthing that could come in handy - Quote :
- I may have misunderstood your post but, a Sevice Member does not get to choose what camo or uniform they wear, Uniform and Equipment is dictated to them by each units TO&E that is handed down to them from the DOD, the clothing allowance is used to replace non durable pieces of clothing, BDU, Drawers, Socks, Boots and so on, those serving in an AO or Hostile enviorment get everything replaced on a DX system. Service Members do not have to buy thier gear, it is issued to them and when the supply system is working correctly, if the Military has it on inventory, it can be issued.

Ya they use alot of game controllers because it cuts down on training time cuz its a familiar layout. The Xbox cotroller is a real awsome design, I wish I could learn how to use em alongside my UAV for camera/flight control. http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/05/us-army-using-xbox-360-controller-in-future-combat-systems-tests/Not really on the topic, but somewhat similar: Recently there was a study where the USAF took a bunch of kids and threw em into an F-38 simulator. The kids were able to learn controls and all that almost instantly...whereas it takes months of training for AF personnel. They were asked to list things that needed to be changed and stuff...much of the F-38's concept HUD and dash are based off these tests...funny...they got to design something that they might be flying one day.

| @Sticks,
It was just a matter of time, since the area of operation and the type of fighting has changed, so does the uniform. Since Korea, the uniform worn has been dictated by the World and Political situation, where is the greatest threat and where can we be expected to deploy our forces, sadly not always with the welfare of the service member in mind, doesn´t make too much sense to have troops stationed in FT. Wainright or FT. Richardson Alaska running around in OD 107´s, but they did.
Someday, Somebody will develop an all purpose, multi enviorment, all weather camoflage uniform, just hope it´s not battery operated. LOL
