| I personally would recommend abolt action spring rifle as they are silient and have great range as well plus they are more authientic to the reel steel versions . The two greatest and most well know bolt actionsniper rifles are the UTG L-96 ( which I have ) and the JG-BAR 10 ( which is easily upgraded ) . The L-96 works better stock with a blistering 480 fps while at the low price range 170 dollars . The JG-BAR 10 does not have but a 400 fps and a price of 120 dollars , However with the left ove money from the JG-BAR ten improvements and modificatins can be made to make this gun fire well over 500 fps outraging and out gunning the L-96 . The choice is all your and this question is a well known and hated one all around the sight which gun is better th UTG L-96 or the JG-BAR 10 and in my bios opion the L-96 is my choice however tghe choice is all yours and I can not make the choice for you but many other snipers will back me up on this when I say , don't settle for a gas sniper .

| For one gas cost money and spring power doesn't , The second reason is sound and when you are behind enemy lines taking on an objective the last thing you want is a gun that sounds really loud , The third is because I mainly don't like them and think that you would be more happy with a Spring powered bolt action sniper rifle gun such as the oneslisted above as they are easy to maintain and do not reequire constant care as some gas powered sniper rifles do . With the money you save from not buying a 400 dollar gas sniper you can hop up a Spring sniper to shoot well over the limit of the gas snipers without the loud noise or the price . But its like I said you want a gas powered gun go ahead and get it but I would rather you not . | |

| I already have the l96 but it's too slow for me. I want to get one that i can just shoot someone and not worry of them shooting back. i was at an airsoft match with one and i was shooting head shots with my sniper but it was shooting so slow that when it hit them in the head they just brushed it off.
the jg bar sounds good but im worried about breaking my gun when upgrading it. | |

| Your response was very well put Alabama. I would also recommend both of these rifles. However, I think you're not giving gas rifles their fair credit that they deserve. Gas rifles can be great to have. The bolts (if a bolt-action, obviously) are much easier to pull, they're still fairly quiet (compared to AEGs), and they can reach high FPS easily. On top of that with most models you can adjust the FPS pretty easily which is does not go the same for spring rifles. However, I do agree a bolt-action spring sniper rifle would most likely suit a sniper of your caliber better. Gas rifles can somewhat be inconsistent at times, and are almost impossible to use in very low temperature conditions. If you are interested in a gas sniper rifle, check out the KJW m700. You don't have to necessarily spend $400 to get a good gas sniper rifle, this one's only $200. Also, for future reference, and not that it bothers me, nor do I really care either way, but: A sniper is the actual person using the rifle. A sniper rifle is the actual replica being used. People get torn apart on other forums for making this awful mistake where they mix the two terms (he says with sarcasm in his voice). lol. But like I said, doesn't bother me - just a little "FYI." | |

| get a bolt over a gas gun because gas can get a little expensive , and for a beginer bolt action is the best . I reccomend the L96 sniper rifle . its my personal favorit and its powerful for its price. | |
