| Well, I chose Black Hawk Down. The reason i chose it was simply, because i thought it was a great movie. To be honest, Black Hawk Down and Saving Private Ryan are the only ones i've seen on the list...although i did see an episode of Band of Brothers and thought it was good. But i really liked BHD. I saw it after playing the video game, and the game was really good, almost close to the storyline of the move, but not quite. But all in all i loved the movie.

| JamillaTheKilla, BHD should I should probably say that BHD is my favorite movie.....I have seen it exactly 63 times. I know, thats ALOT. I know every single line in the movie, and I even un-intentionally memorized every single shot in the scene where Mike D, Gary Gordon, and Randy Shughart make their last stand. This movie has been my favorite ever since sixth grade, and I'm a fresman now. The reason I put Band Of Brothers, is because those movies really get to me every time I watch them. They are so emotional, intense and SO realistic. I would actually say that I am tied woth BHD and B.O.B. Oh, and BTW- BHD is what made want to join the army, and then I read both of Mike Durants books, and those are what made me want to become a Night Stalker Pilot. | |

| Id have to agree that BHD is on of my favorite but i think ive watched it at least 50 times so now its gotten old to me but still its a great movie. Has some great combat scenes but where is we were soilders cause that is one amazing movie all around! But if your looking to see how boot camp is like then id say Full metal jacket | |

| Oh yeah. I completely forgot about We Were Soldiers. That was a great movie...Tears of the Sun was good too, but not on the level of BHD or We Were Soldiers. I've heard that Full Metal Jacket was good, but have not seen it yet. My brother reccomends it, for the fact he was in the Marines and he said it was really accurate. I'll have to look around for it.

| Yea i forgot all about Tears of the Sun that was really good, shows alot of good tactics and all that stuff but yea Full Metal Jacket is really good, It really shows how the boot camp life is but after the boot camp scene its not as good as what you would think. | |

| BHD took the cake for me. Saving private Ryan was good but i've only seen it once since I was 10(dad tryed to deter me from joining the army... That didn't work so well ...).
Where's enemy at the gates? That's probably the best sniping war movie ever! Tears of the sun was good too.
I usually don't like any war movies that were made before the 90's. Sms of the classics are good but for most of em there's too much Hollywood influence. Band of brothers was amazing. I probably enjoyed that more than I enjoyed saving private Ryan.

| BHD....good ol BHD....I have seen it over 78 times (I stopped counting) I know every line in the movie, and almost evey gun-shot in the Mike Durant Super-Six-Four scene. Gary Gordon=GG Randy Shughart=RG Mike Durant=MD GG:Pullin him out cover! RG: *BAM-BAM* (does a double-tap with his M14 GG:At the Super-Six-Four Crash site, securing perimiter, over. RADIO: ROGER THAT GG: Were setting you down, you good? MD: yeah i'm good! GG: any skinnies come around these corners, you watch our backs. MD: hey, wheres the rescue squad?! ..... GG: were it. EPIC SCENE. And I'm not talking about up until there, I'm talking about until Mike Durant gets captured...and SOMETHING MUST BE KNOWN: To everybody who has seen the movie, you remember the part where Mike durant gets hit with the AK-47? That never happened....Indeed, he did get hit at that very moment. but it wasn't with a rifle.....he was struck with one of his buddies' severed arms..... I have read both of Mike durants books. One of them Twice. BHD is what got me interested in the military. | |

| i'm sorry i'm bringing up another dead thread, but i have to say Band of Brothers is one of my favorites, too. my favorite characters are Webster, Malarkey, Garnere, Winters, of course, Nixon, 'Bull' Randleman, Liebgott, Muck, Luz (he was funny), Perconte, Roe, and Shifty. those are all the ones i can remember for now. and i really liked Black Hawk Down, as well. that was an excellent movie, and i have it on my iTunes. another one i liked was Jarhead, and although i've only seen a few scenes from it, i've read the book five times over the course of one month. it's a great book, definitely worth reading. | |

| warsaw, it was way back in the off topic area. last post before mine was October 20, 2008. when you post in a thread, it bumps up to the top of the area. so, i revived this thread. when you do it too often, though, people will get pissed off. | |
