| im guna have to say The Hurt Locker, i mean it was nominated for 9 academy awards for a reason, not only was the story line excellently written and Jeremy Renner played a B.A character (Staff Sergeant William James), but the cinematography was amazing. I also really liked how it introduced me to the aspects of an EOD team, and I can't forget about the Private Contractors in the movie. | |

| My top three have to be Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, and then The Longest Day maybe. And before anyone asks where Band of Brothers is i think it's amazing but i don't consider it a movie. But yeah there's tons of good war movies out there, i recently watched Stalingrad (German version) and thought it was very well done. | |

| saving private ryan is a Classic, Steven Speilberg very rarely directs a bad movie i also wont forget private jackson, the sniper "Be not that far from me, for trouble is near; haste Thee to help me. Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight."
BOOM HEAD SHOT! | |

| I enjoyed the hurt locker. From the guys who have deployed it hits on some things that they had never seen directed in a movie before. I think the thing that they all agreed on was the last line, you know the part where hes talking to his son. I wont ruin the movie for people who haven't seen it but I will say for the people who saw the movie it had a huge hidden message throughout the whole movie.

| Everything everyone up there^ said are all great movies, my favorites.
Another good one I've seen is "9 рота" (or "9th Company" in English). It's all in Russian but subtitles don't hurt. By the way you can find it on YouTube in parts

I've heard from several Vets that the movie was unrealistic and actually made them mad... Mine is We Were Soldiers, hands down. Only because it's so true to the actual story (Read the book by Galloway and Hal Moore....380 pages of pure EPICNESS. The movie wasn't long enough to portray all of the individual acts of heroism performed that day.) After that Black Hawk Down, (Read three books on that one including Mike Durant's In The Company of Heroes) and have actually seen the movie over 100 times. I used to come home from school EVERY DAY and pop it in while I would do my homework. Then comes B.O.B., (YES of course I read the book and I just bought the book written by Winters...can't wait for THE PACIFIC!) After that, it's definately STAR WARS FTW!!!! Oh and by the way for those who don't know, the quote in my sig. Is from We Were Soldiers, and YES, Plumley really did hand out weapons to the medic, cock his 1911 and say that line. EPIC.

I've heard from several Vets that the movie was unrealistic and actually made them mad... Friend of mine who pulled two tours in Iraq said the same thing. I hadn't watched it before he said that and after i really have no desire to watch it.

+1 Agreed. If you read the book you'll be even more awe-struck by the amazing things he did. I did not like FMJ all that much. I think I liked the training half better than the actual fighting half.

| The Training part of the movie is what made it so popular. The rest is just to sweeten the deal. "John Wayne....Is that you!" | |

Tons of other......
On an unrelated note, I was at a robotics competition during a 3 day conference (I'm on my school's robotics team, finished 8th out of 80 teams FTW!) and I had the oppurtunity to operate an IED robot, similar to the one they use in THe Hurt Locker.
