Oh and Br55...X-Cam is digital multi cam..ACU is ACU I was thinking about phoning him too. Too bad he doesn't know everything, which some people learned the hard way (Bennett *cough*). I was under the impression that ACU was the style, and the camouflage pattern had its own name. Like BDU, since that's the older-style uniform, without any of the Velcro everywhere. It's also labeled on the site I'm getting it from as "X-Camouflage ACU." I am not the one to know, though (rhyme ftw!).

When I meant "style," I meant like pockets/velcro/material not pattern. I understand what you're saying as well, but I just thought that ACU was the style, like a BDU. To put it simply, I thought ACU was to BDU as jeans are to cargos. Sorry for the hijack, Jarhead, going to finish the quiz now...

| I don't know, every movie, every game, every kid, every airsofter, every person wants to be one!!!!!!!!!!!! There good, but in my opinion are beat by the army by 10x over. My reasoning is that Marines are supposed to be Marines, they storm a beach, hold the land, then wait for the army to take over. Without the army, the marines would really be nothing... Eh that is true, they don't have he logistics to go inland and hold somthing...they are afer all Navy, and therfore depend on the ships. Even now in Iraq and Afganistan they depend on Army logistics. The funniest thing is..yeah evryone wants to be a Marine, yet its one of the smallest branches..go figure eh? | |

| Remember though, the Marines are not an occupation force, they are an aggressive (sp?) seaborne force meant to take out coastal targets. What they're doing in the middle east right now is not the job of the Marine, but of the Army grunt. I'm not going to lie, the Army does have 10x the manpower, but have you ever noticed the Marine Corps guards US Embassies, the Marine Corps is the first main force into the hot zone, the Marine Corps owns and flies the president's helicopters, and the Marine Corps band plays for the president? I'm not saying the Army doesn't do anything, I'm just pointing that out. I don't want to start a "my branch is better" war in this thread. When it all comes down to it, one team, one fight. Now get back to topic. I'll post answers this evening at around 1730 mountain time. | |

Embassies yes, main force to hit a country. Not at all. The USMC like to push this allot but now a days its a combined Army, Navy, AF, MC effort. If you look as far back as the 80's the USMC has been a little lacking on their slogan of "first to fight". Even as recently as the Hati earthquakes, the 82nd airborne was the first combat team to get on the island. Not saying that the MC doesn't pull their weight, cause they do, but their slogan of "first to fight" is really misleading. This is especially true if you count SOF.... Lets see you answers at 19:30 my time! sticks
