Some Guns Empty
PostSubject: Some Guns   Some Guns Icon_minitimeThu Jun 17, 2010 8:38 pm

So one of my team members JG M4 has died and he's giving up on it. It just gives him a lot of trouble so he's done with it and wants a new gun.

He's thinking of getting either the SR 25, or an M16a4 he's not sure which one to get though so heres what company he want's each one to be.

JG M16a4
Echo 1 M16a4
A&K SR 25
Classic Arms SR 25

he's getting a loan on these guns so he's not sure, I think he would much rather have the SR 25 over the M16 but he's on a budget in a way.

My main question is how is the A&K SR 25 what are it's pros and cons because if so he will just take the extra money and put it to upgrades and the parts I need (call me selfish) If it comes down to it though he is going to end up buying the CA SR 25.

Well, lets look at both guns, while we wait for someone who owns one of them to put some input.

http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=3436
FPS 340-360
Magazine Capacity 450
Accuracy at distance 120 feet
Price 199 (Before tax/shipping)

The Magazine for this gun: $20

http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=3629
FPS 400
magazine Capacity 300
Accuracy at distance 120 feet
Price 160
I THINK this is a compatible mag for this rifle. But please someone check for me:
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=60_61&products_id=2165

Is so, $12.50 is a good deal, although I say not to always trust the cheaper deal.

Now, these states are all based on the airsoft gi website, so I think we can assume that they are accurate when compared to each other. It appears based on these, that the JG M16A4 is the better rifle. It has at least 40 more FPS, the same accuracy for distance, and is $40 cheaper.

But on the other hand, that A&K Full Metal SR-25 just looks so cool!

Now, after looking at both of these rifles and their magazines. I suggest the A&K SR25, why? because I don't trust anything that sells cheap parts or accessories. In my opinion, based off of a few purchases airsoft and non airsoft. I say that spending the extra money will be worth it.

Of course, this is just food for thought while you wait for someone who owns one of these to reply.

Edit: And just for comparison, I'll post the airsoftgi link to a few others of those mentioned.

Yeah I think the A&K is a better rifle jg makes some awesome AK's but not sure about other replicas. He had the JG M4 S-system but it's dead so I'm not sure he should get their M16. It does have more fps but I don't know if the internals can handle it.

I also learned this kid is going to be one of my spotters so that alone makes me want him to have a good rifle. I don't think he's really looking into having an assault rifle from what he's been saying he wants it to be more of a dmr type thing.

If he is going to be your spotter, since he should be always around to protect you due to the ROE (Rules of Engagement) You probably want him to have a lower fps gun.

400fps will be fine he can engage up to 50 ft and his side arm covers the rest of that distance from 20 to 50 so thats covered.

Why am I not suprised at all.... Laughing
My advice for him would be to stay away from 'ol Jin Gong....
I'm not a huge fan of A&K, but I have heard amazing things about their SR25. Superb weapon, with very high upgradability. A lot of people use them where I play for that reason.

If not that then definately the E1 M16A4. M16's Kick Brass and E1 is just a very reliable company. I don't think it's possible to be displeased with an M16, and this ones coming from E1.

Just my Two Cents...
