this could be a break through in airsoft, better quality replicas at local stores. nub kitty airsofters will get these they won't break then they will get hooked it's like lacing drugs with drugs haha. Just think kids won't go in and think it's the coolest thing then have it break in a week it will last and be good, they will like it. Its why paintball got big they sold semi quality stuff to people and they got hooked.

It will indeed open up the airsoft scene to newcomers, and they wont get let down by the cheaper "airsoft" crap walmart sold before. but you know what? i will never buy an Airsoft replica from walmart.... i will not support a company that plans to monopolize on everything. think about it. if walmart starts to sell quality and brand name airsoft products and they sell it well and give good customer service (which walmart usually has) then they could potentially put airsoft stores out of business. (this likely won't happen, but the way walmart does things i wouldn't rule it out as a possibility)
But they won't sell "KWAs" for a long long time. BIG 5 sells CA sportlines, and from what i heard they are complete crap. so don't go thinking walmart is selling some high grade stuff yet.

but hopefully walmart will not be able to monopolize off of airsoft and many more people will be introduced to "real" airsoft replicas.

I think once i make my millions I should start up my own Mobile Airsoft Store to ride around the Twin Cities selling airsoft guns to the Masses!! and teaching proper safety of course!

Like the book mobile, except it'll be an APC. I've always preferred Costco to Walmart. Walmart sells cheap s***. Costco sells s*** cheap. I could see Costco carrying a KWA M-4 4-pack for $1000. I just couldn't see Walmart ever carrying anything but the cheapest plastic mockeries of airsoft guns they can find.

Even Fry's Electronics sells some Aftermath airsoft guns along with the crappy Colt spring pistols o.o

but you know what. i think this could make airsoft all the more popular. and there won't be so much bullcrap concerning it since there is a larger crowd that can get angry etc. (remember ATF seizures?)
the more good publicity airsoft receives the better it looks. instead of newslines saying "atf seizes airsoft weapons that can be converted into real firearms"
it would say "new popular milsim sport on the rise, becoming more popular than paintball, AIRSOFT"

But by that same token, they will say it's militarizing America's youth. They already did that with the JROTC program, and San Fransicko went so far as to ban it from their schools for two or three years. The media will always, always find a way to screw you over, I guarantee it.

Personally, I think anything under 300 fps should be transparent, and anything over should require special airsoft registration. Sort of similar to what the Brits have, but more reasonable. Limit realistic-looking replicas to those who can use them responsibly. That way you have less bad media about children with "machine guns".

I agree entirely. I would love to see a registration system to better keep track of who is allowed to have these replicas in their possession.
There are too many people, not just little kids surprisingly, that make our hobby/sport look bad. A fair way of regulating that would be so great...I'd back it completely.

But If its anything like firearm registration they'll restrict more...and more...and more...until *poof*.

Maybe we need a Constitutional Amendment granting us the right to bear things that look like arms.
