| Why aren't any brands that come from China in stock anymore? I believe I saw Sticks say they wouldn't be for a while. I was up to date on the whole Chineese new year set-back, but this one beats me. Anybody? | |

| Last I heard, a number of factories were raided by Chinese law enforcement (Chinese Gestapo would be a better name?) after the government suspected airsoft gun molds were being used to make "real" guns to be sold illegally within the country. Following the raids, the government ordered the dismantling of a few of the factories, along with the destruction of alot of replicas being held in warehouses. The government didn't actually have evidence of illegal operations, this is all just part of preparations for the 60th anniversary of communism in China. A&K is the only one that I know of that has been ordered to close indefinitely. The others are likely just in probationary periods (gathering their cash to bribe officials). But a number of A&K employees left to work for MAGPUL, the new Masada is 90% the work of A&K workers/designers. - Quote :
- China has launched "a crackdown on gun crimes to ensure social stability" (Ministry of Public Security said Tuesday in an online statement). The campaign which started back in March and will end on the 31st October includes confiscating illegal weapons (both real steel and replicas), which also includes seizing groups or individuals who produce them.

"Shenzhen Customs officers destroy replica guns in the warehouse of its Huizhou anti-smuggling office Thursday. About 2,790 guns and 1,500 kilograms of spare parts were destroyed, Customs officials said Friday. The popularity of field warfare games has contributed to increased demand for replica guns in the domestic market, which has led to an increase in replica gun smuggling cases, officials said. The guns resemble the real thing in color, weight, size and quality, and as such can be used by criminals to threaten victims in robberies and muggings. So far nearly 12,000 smuggled replica guns and spare parts have been seized by the Customs this year".
