| Selling my G4-A5 DMR to ZedHead, hopefully in then next week or so. Planning on picking up a Cyma AKS-101 no-frills AK variant w/ irons only (slim and sexy, oorah?) Just need some help with accessories and other items on my kit list. What I've been working on has been a vague desert contractor loadout. For this kit so far, I have: -- TAN hot-weather high-tops -- OD hot-weather tactical pants -- TAN hot-weather tactical blouse What I still need, excluding the AK-101...is: -- Plate carrier w/ webbing + AK, admin, misc pouches...OD or TAN. -- Leg rig w/ medical pouch...same color as PC. -- Cap w/ no patch backing...TAN or OD. -- Condor wrap or shemagh -- INEXPENSIVE bowman headset replica...performance quality doesn't matter. -- Anything else you can think of? Figured I might as well give us something to do, given our airsoft convo's here are becoming scarce. PS: How much would I need to trim the spring to get it from 430 to sub-400? | |

| I hope you don't plan on putting an optic rail on there... Otherwise your folding stock will be useless. I think a P226 would go real nice with that. | |

I think a P226 would go real nice with that. Yuck no. AK's with rails are hideous. It's going to stay exactly how it was purchased.

Lawl the only AK's I've ever shot real steel were Chinese-made wood/metal 47's...just bare bones, gritty, get the job done. Both were owned by Front Site shooting instructors. Based on those experiences, if I were in-theater, I would pick a skim 74 over a tacticool peashooter any day. Less stuff to get hung up on your gear...less weight...slimmer profile. The recoil on an AK isn't at all what popular belief would have you thinking. They're a blast to shoot on semi. Controllable, takedown power, and just plain sexy to begin with. You don't need the vert-grips or any of that junk. If you put anything on an AK, it better just be a red dot sight. - M14 double-taps wrote:

| You guys don't understand what I say a lot of the time, it seems. I <3 bare bones AKs, but of all of the pictures of contractors I have seen with an AK, they have mostly tacti-coolized them | |

That's a negative, ghostrider. Pulled straight from Warrior Talk News (GREAT RS training resource BTW) It's a Romanian WASR-10 from what I understand. http://www.warriortalknews.com/tactical-rifle-skills/@Ksquared That third picture is of two Executive Outcomes operators after the sh1t in Sierra Leone.

| Sooooo still need help with: -- Plate carrier + AK, admin, misc pouches OR soft armor + chest rig -- Leg rig w/ medical/utility pouch...same color as PC. -- Cap ...TAN or OD. -- Condor wrap or shemagh The plate carrier Sanguinary linked won't work with my body type. I'm a really thin guy, seems like I'd run into trouble. PC: http://www.weaponblender.com/index.php?productID=2135 (I can get 1 AK mag in those AR double stacks) Leg Rig: http://www.weaponblender.com/index.php?productID=2203Anyone know where I can find an inexpensive gbb non-railed M9 to throw in that rig? I think I'm going to do tan tacti-pants...OD blouse...tan boots...tan cap...black PC...black leg rig...OD face wrap... | |

| If you want a cheaper PC I would either run with a replica MBSS, or a FAPC. Both will fit us smaller guys.
For the sidearm I would run with a .45 replica. There seems to be an abundance of 45 in conflict zones due to US and other NATO surplus. Plus allot of guys would rather carry the larger caliber for the stopping power than not.
Just some food for thought.
