| So ive been playing with AEG's for quite awhile now. and i would really love to try sniping. but only one problem.. which one to buy?? ive heard alot of hype about the Well/warrior L96 but there are so many guns out there that look just like it. One of the guns i have my finger on is this: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=7963 but im not exactly sure what makes a good sniper rifle... so if you could help me out i would be greatly appreciative. | |

| Looks = nothing. Don't buy a gun based on its looks.
Airsoft sniping is arguably the most expensive route. You need a base rifle + hundreds of dollars of upgrades (or an expensive pre-upgraded rifle) + know-how + accessories + heavier (more expensive) ammo. To top it off, it is probably the most boring. But if you really want to get into it then I would recommend either the one you linked or an Echo 1 M28. Or, if you know your way around a gearbox and like spending money, a KWA SR12 + upgrades + tight-bore barrel + accessories. That would be my choice if I wanted to play long-range and had the money.

| I'm actually thinking about getting an M24. I DO need to buy based on looks because I use it for milsim. I know that I won't be very useful to my team, but I used to snipe, and did pretty good at it because I don't get bored easily. | |

| You'll either want a WELL/Warrior/UTG L96, or a JG BAR10 for your price range. I have the latter, with the pants upgraded off it. But i did love it when it was stock.
The M24 is nice if you want a cool looking rifle, but it has very little available for aftermarket upgrades ATM. But you can still do DIY stuff.

| I highly recommend the UTG L96... we have 2 sniper rifles on our team... the JG Bar 10 and the UTG L96... the JG has a better body (texture & weight) but the UTG performs much better, not to mention the JG has had some major sear problems. | |

| Mgunner.... The JG BAR is JG's version of the M24... the only difference is that it has a civilian stock instead of the military adjustable stock that M24s have. Every Remington 700 variety made in airsoft can be called an M24. | |

no sir VSR-10 parts = JG-bar 10 parts APS-2 parts = m24 parts, but the echo m28 has a bigger bolt so there are no upgrade parts for it yet except the reinforced trigger on GI now the JG Bar-10 is an upgrade platform, its meant to be broken down and re built with all new parts. If your looking to stay stock for a bit get the UTG l96. Also the rifle you linked you could try for if you think you got the muscle to pull it back, not calling you weak just saying not good for younger guys, thing is a \"Watch your language\" to pull.

| If you want a semi fieldable sniper rifle out of the box the ASGI g700 series is pretty nice, I would def. be prepared to replace the ASGI parts once they break. | |
