| A new player can never go wrong with a M4 or M16 or AK for starting out.
I say play now, upgrade later (if needed).
G&G is one of those brands comparable with ICS and SRC. I don't know much more about them other than that small fact.

| It'd be a great spotter rifle in my opinion. You can hardly ever go wrong with an M4. G&G makes some great guns, I'm not sure about this one specifically, but it's hard to go wrong with them. I see the gun also comes pre-upgraded, including a 6.03mm precision barrel which will give you enough accuracy to make a few long-shots here and there when needed. I'd say go for it. | |

I'm not sure what size/shape battery your gun holds, but I can at least recommend this charger: http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=3005It's pretty popular in the airsoft world (I too am a user/believer) and prevents batteries from being overcharged/undercharged. Too many batteries lost to cheap wall-chargers

If you look at the link given it says that it does come with a 6.03mm precision barrel.

| yep in fact i may be buying a new battery soon because of my cheap wall charger. There is simply no way to tell when the battery is completed. I have to discharge it using a model train set...LOLz then recharge it with the wall charger on a timer | |

| Getting a proper charger/discharger is very important to an airsofter. Ruining a $40 battery sucks, a-lot, i did it once and went out and bought a $120 charger at once.
Remember if you are using a TB you need to use quality BBs. I recommend AE .25, they should provide a decent balance between price, consistancy, weight and velocity.
As a spotter you should also invest in a fairly decent set of field binos, not need to go too crazy here but you will want to be able to identify enemy players and point them out to your shooter. I'd just use any $20 10x set from Kmart.
Remember your job is to support your shooter, point out targets and provide extra firepower in case of being overrun.
Have fun! | |

| Can't go wrong with an Armalite! Just avoid bullpup designs because they are not comfortable to lie down with and changing mag while prone is awkward. Also avoid AK's because the mag is huge and makes prone shooting awkward.
Other than that, a G3 variant, an M4/M16 variant, an M14 or M14 Socom or a sig 550 or similar are perfect guns for a spotter

| I wanted to go with an M16 just because of the endless after market options, and I want to eventually upgrade my gun. It will be much easier with an M16 vs an M14. Also this came with a bi-pod which was a great accesory. | |
