| Don't quote me on this but. You usually see PMCs use them quite a bit. I believe it is for if you need to have your firearm right there ready to use, and so you can get to your sidearm quickly. | |

| Using an M4 as an example it's usually on a mount that sits between the body and the buffer tube. You can also clip it onto most any sling mount on the stock. | |

| If you're looking for weight distribution then a 1 point is not what you want. Most of the weight is either going to be placed on your neck or shoulder depending on how you wear it. If you have a plate carrier with adjustable shoulder strap pads you run the sling threw them and that will help a lot. From my experience 1 points are mainly a speed rig and that's it. | |

| 1 point slings have only 1 attachment point to your rifle. and as ILFT said it is mainly for speed. 2 point slings or 3 point slings could get easily tangled up while transitioning to a sidearm or can be just downright confusing in the first place (3 pt) | |

| Haha yeah i thought about getting a 3 point when i started back up because i like how they look and the idea behind them. But they look way to confusing to use or set up.
Another sling you my want to look at is the Irene Adaptive sling, it has the ability to go from a 1 point to a 2 point sling depending on the situation and what you feel like using.

Hmmm, sounds like a good idea, can I get a link? And I do have a plate carrier with adjustable shoulder straps, which I could use... still not sure considering its for my DM loadout.

| I say definitely go with a 1 point. I used to use a 2 point sling, but it constantly got in the way. 1 point is much better; it gives you very quick access to your gun. | |

| I thought this was going to be used with an M14/M4 or other variant. II don't think there's anyway to use a 1 point on an M14 unless you're at least 7 feet tall or something. Pick up a cheap 2 point sling if that's what you're going to be using. | |
