| All right, call me a noob here, I don't care, what would be the best way to clean my barrel. Do I need a special soft cleaning rod or will any do? Will extra long pipe cleaners work? Is the barrel accessable by the bore? (In which case I would use a bore snake)
I know I should apply a little bit of silicon spray to the cleaning apparatus for lubrication and to help get dirt out but if you could just tell me what you guys use that'd be great.
Also my bolt came greased and now that grease is getting thin. What kind of lube should I use there?

| be for you clean make sure to turn your hop-up off all the way or els you will brake it. i use the cleaning rod from a real gun and cleaning patches... you can but thease things at like any sore that sells guns or hunting stuff....after you clean it you may want to lube your gun with some silicone lub.

| turn ur hop up OFF, then i just use a brass cleaning rod with some gun cleaning patches and a bit of silicone lube. then i shoot it about 30 times and let in sit with the barrel angled toward the ground. | |

| Yeah but you don't spray the silicone directly down the barrle right? I've heard you should only use a tiny bit of silicone spray on your cleaning apparatus.
If you spray it down the barrel it will eventually corrode it.

| I know this post is about cleaning a sniper, but I was just wondering when you clean an AEG should the hop-up be turned off like on a sniper? | |

| Yea my sniper didn't come with the rod. Plus I don't entirely think that plastic would be a good material for cleaning a barrel. | |

| Plastic or steel , it doesn't matter , just as long as it does the trick . | |

| But I do see where you are coming from , plastic rods could break off into the barrel and become caught , but I don't think that it will and is very unlikely . | |

| i use silicone because it says that you can use it on any part of the gun (on my can) and i would have the hop-up off on what ever gun you have when you put a cleaning rod down it. | |

| A quick shot of Silicon spray down the Barrel is fine, a 1 second shot will provide you with more than enough to lubricate the entire barrel, when using a cleaning rod, remember to ``TURN´´ the patch down the barrel, and Turn it back out. Stay away from petrolium based oils for barrel cleaning ( WD-40, 3 in 1....). Petrolium based oils will destroy the Hop-Up rubber most ricky tick !! For bolt Grease I recommend using Robbe Presision Grease, is also Silicon/Teflon Based, IMHO, this stuff is made for AirSoft !!! Gas, Spring, AEG, I use this grease on all my guns, and on all the guns that I work on. http://www.helibits.com/customer/product.php?productid=16420&cat=0&page=1You can pick it up in almost all hobby shops, and most definatly in any RC Shop. | |

| But if you are just cleaning the barrel without dissasembling the rifle wouldn't you just be shoving all of the dirt into the back of the barrel? | |

| Thats why you turn the Cleaning pad, not shoving it in. | |
