| Okay, as most of you know by now, I have the Cybergun M1A1 Thompson (please don't call it a Tommy gun, it will anger me ) Well today, in our final match of the day, something happened to the trigger. when I pull it, it fires, but stays in the pulled-back position. This makes it REEEALLY hard to fight a war, as you can imagine. Any ideas? If you need other details just ask. Thanks for any help. | |

| I think the spring that pushes the trigger back forward is either moved so it can't do it or broken.. | |

| Try taking the gun apart and look at the trigger. | |

| This could be a generic problem with the cut off lever or your trigger spring has been shot to "Watch your language" | |

| Open the Mechbox; on the trigger there should be a little hole. Insert the small bent end into the whole then just put the coiled part onto the little part that sticks up(youll see it), then put the trigger in so the spring is on the bottom of the mechbox. Youll understand once you get it in the mechbox.

| www.mechbox.com also covers how to put the trigger back in, it has a tendency to pop out out so you have to guide it in like you do with the gears while your putting the shell back together. | |

| Anyway , if it isn't trigger spring , perhaps it is something a whole lot less complicated , such as , the trigger needing , or lubricant , and I am with you , it is a Thomspon , nothing else . | |

| Okay, Just wondering, would it be bad for the gun if I DIDNT replace it? Because the gun still shoots, and I can just stick a pen spring behind the trigger and it "works" fine. Im not sure if I want to risk opening up my Thompson. But if I have to I will. | |

| Hi Double-Taps,
It´s completly your call to dissasemble or not, but if I was in your shoes I would do the tear down and replace the spring. There are a couple of things that could have happened and both of them could lead to some real dammage later.
It is possible that the spring just slipped out of it´s retaining hole, but then again it could also be that the end of the spring, or a part of the trigger assembly has broken off, do you really want to risk some small pieces of metal roaming around in your gearbox ?? A little thing now to repair is a Pain in the Butt, having to buy buy a new GB later because of something small now, is just a crying shame.

Rank post much? But yeah Slob, I most likley will replace it for those reasons. I'm ordering them from A-Smith just like Sticks said. Anybody have any good sites that show how to take down a Thompson? Oh wait-- I do know Mechbox.com

Good idea Bama, GR you actually got my hopes up for a second! That would have made things easier, but I got it from a locale shop, and although I do know a guy there that could possibly hook me up, I've had for waaay too long, and that guy has already saved me dozens of times.
