Okay guys, I've got another one for ya! cheers
My friend Seth purchased the Airsoft GI Custom Patriot II. For those of you that don't know, its a hacked-up M4 with no stock, a buffer tupe, and a really sick, futurisitic flash hider. He also got a nice Red Dot with it...

Anyways, it's a GREAT gun, amazing out-of-the-box RPM and actually gets a GREAT velocity and good accuracy for a CQB gun. Our issue is, that the hop-up is out of control! It goes about twenty feet then curves up towards the sky like a roller coaster. I adjusted the hop-up down as far as it would go, the gear you turn to adjust the hop wont budge any further in the negative direction. It's nearly impossible for him to hit anything when the hop-up is like this. Any suggestions? The only thing I could think of would be to lossen the little screw on that gear you turn to adjust it....Well Im open to suggestions!!! study

Is it flying up in all positions? if you turn the weel to the negative too much you will get something like you are describing. If its not that than the only thing I could think of would be the Hop-up arm is jammed for maximum hop. You should probably just disassemble it and reassemble it.

Wow Sticks that was quick Very Happy Yes, it is flying up in all positions. I thought maybe they assembled the wheel backwards (Actually happened to me before) and started going positive...Just got worse. I told him dissasembly would, unfortunately, most likely be the only way. I think it will be a good learning experience for him, though.

Okay, so we finally ended up at our locale shop (BingShop, great place) with my Thompson, KWA M4, and his GI Patriot II. The tech there, Bo, took a gun he had never seen apart in about 7 seconds. He was blunt, and cut right to the chase. Turns out my friends ONE MONTH OLD GUN had a chewed-up hop up bocking and a bent barrel. He walked out of the shop down $110 and no gun for three weeks. He had to get:

New hop-up bucking $9.95
New custom TM TB barrel $60
Service charge: $40.00
TOTAL: $110.

I walked out happy, a new titanium Mad-Bull silencer on my M4, and ordered a rail for my carry-handle, which I already have a $50 red dot for. I'll put pics up in the pics section when I get it finished.
