| well, my friend, the M16 did not exist during WWII, so i imagine they are Vietnam-era. and if they're Vietnam-era, then they are M56 pouches.

WWII Standard Battle Rifle = M1 Garand/M1 Carbine
Vietnam - Present Standard Battle Rifle = M16A1/M16A2/M16A3/M16A4
