Help me decide?

I want to get optics for the SCAR I'll most likely be getting, but I can't decide.

Either this ACOG

or this holosight.

ACOG if you're going for more distance. The other if you're wanting more close range, rapid target acquiring.

Ooo OK thanks, that narrows it down a bit.. That SCAR would hurt like a mofo at CQB range, plus it claims to be accurate at longer distances. So ACOG it is! Thanks dude.

ACOG looks better but go on functionality not looks. Tactility doesnt mean pretty. The ACOG is gonna be a red dot the holosite will be much better.

Well I kinda like red dots as opposed to circle dot/crosshair-dot-thing...and if ACOG is better for distance then that's more what I'm looking for.

BUT my mind can still be changed.

i would say the holosight, because it helps accuracy. but the ACOG has better range so your pick. range, or accuracy.

That ACOG doesn't have any magnification, it says 1x. So there shouldn't be much difference in their accuracy at range, but the holosight will have a wider field of view and will be easier to look at quickly, so you'll have faster target acquisition. The tube design even at 1x does help your eye focus more on the target, but then you lose your peripheral vision while you're sighting in.

Ah, I see. Maybe I should get the holosight then. Well I will decide for sure when I actually have money in-hand and the order's ready to go. I think I have all the info I need. Thanks.

I would recommend the holosight. It has a wider field of view, and has multiple reticles. better sight overall. The ACOG has no magnification, so it's about as good as a reflex sight. If you can find one with magnification, get that.

There's a couple that have 4x magnification but they cost almost as much as the gun haha.

The real ACOG costs about a grand and decent clones a few hundred bucks, so yeah you're not getting much more then a cool looking red dot with this one.
