Honor unit?

Our unit is split between two high schools, so we have to share a lot of things. For marksmanship training, we're going to have to either carpool or walk to the other school to use the range.

Our gear isn't that great. Our cammies are faded to the point where no two cadets look alike. Boots are kind of hit and miss. Some people have boots that are nearing 8 years old, other have brand new ones. We can identify PT gear by the location, number, and size of holes. Last year, Cadets had to turn in their boot socks at the end of the year. When another Cadet bent the pump on my rifle, the company armorer couldn't order a new pump. Instead, he just beat the pump with a pair of vice grips until it would fit back in the gun. Our spotter scope mounts are all broken; half the time, our optics are mounted onto the mount by rubber bands and a strip of duct tape. We have to make due.

For the ones before me talking about President Obama, remember, this is only the beginning of his second year. The way I view it he's got time to correct.

I particularly hate my school. It's a private Christian school with all-female teachers that don't even have college degrees. It kinda trips me out that their religion class teaches creation and their science class teaches evolution. Also the kids don't even act like Christians... much less believe in the teachings.

Please don't start another religious thingy. Just talking about my school in particular.

Ah, duct tape, the holy material of my race (rednecks, haha).

You can do anything with duct tape (like give people free ROTC hair cuts )

Wow..just..wow....umm well before we passed inspection our SAI would drive to Fort..i forget it's name but they gave us free uniforms that were no longer in use..perhaps your senior instructor could go beg for some uniforms..becouse at the very least you need to be in good uniform.

As for the rest..guess your stuck with fund raising..and that sucks.

Yeah, we're screwed, there's no Marine units out here. We've got Air Force and National Guard. Wooo (twirls finger in air). We fundraise for everything, and I mean EVERYTHING! In order to pay for the competition teams to go to meets, Cadets had to sell cookies. I imagine it was rather odd seeing a 6'1", 240 pound guy walking door to door in a faded Marine Corps uniform (especially when my trousers, blouse, and cover are all three different colors) with a big ol' clipboard selling cookies. People would give me money in between laughing, haha.

Ordinary Cadets don't get any service or dress uniforms. Only Drill and Color Guard get them. We're stuck with utilities. My cammies are by far, some of the best in my platoon. The trousers are only slightly more faded than the blouse. One of my buddies (who we call Cup O Noodles) has cammies that look like desert MARPAT from a distance. His are the worst. Even the MI has faded cammies, but his are evenly faded.
