Hello, I was wondering if the WE M911 was pretty good or not and would a WE M92 / WE M9A1 be better? Also, do the Navy SEALs use a M1911? Thanks.

Just FYI, no need to double post (in the wrong section). The forum is small enough that we will see your post if it is in the correct. The guidelines state clearly that "Ask a Pro" is NOT for which gun questions, so please remove the other post.

Now. In my experience, most WE pistols are pretty much the same besides the aesthetics. Neither one would be noticeably "better" or "worse" in terms of performance, but I personally prefer the 1911 over an M9. As far as I know, SEALs generally use the P226 or P228.

And in that price range, the KJW P226 is pretty dern nice.

Seals don't use the 1911, they use a sig sauer p226.

i'm working towards a seal loadout so if you have any questions let me know.

but back on topic. the 1911 are pretty nice.

Also, what about CO2 vs. Propane, I am still trying to decide which gas to use in a WE HK416 and a pistol. Some people said CO2 works better in cold weather, which is understandable, but I don't know if a CO2 pistol would shoot too hot for CQB.

co2 will destroy the gun. it will run down the internals faster.

What about cold weather how does propane perform compared to CO2?

it should perform just fine. you should be able to get through a mag. maybe not 2 like in hot weather. but one mags worth of gas is good enough.

also c02 pistols jam like crazy, i had one when i first started. basically the c02 is so powerful that it shoots the bb at a high fps and it more or less deforms inside the barrel. these were a pain to unjam and probably didn't help my gun maintain a healthy existence either.

The pistol I use for a backup is a cheap plastic co2 M9. I've had that gun for over 2 1/2 years and have never had a problem with it.

that's exactly the problem, they are either good or bad. mine was shooting like 550 fps (no joke...) so i couldn't even use it.

Wow! That's really hot. Mine shoots about 340-300 somewhere in there.

maybe there was a problem with how much co2 was getting out with each shot. thats probably the reason for the bb deformation. but co2 really can be unpredictable so you have to be careful

I will probably get a SOCOM M9A1 since green gas / propane seems a lot easier to use and it is better on your internals than CO2. I keep finding posts that CO2 is more tolerant to cold weather though. Also, do you think it would be a bad idea to have a CO2 WE HK416 and a green gas / propane SOCOM M9A1 since you would have to have both CO2 and green gas / propane instead of just green gas / propane?

up to you. it's your preference if you want to deal with both co2 and propane/green gas

I think that it would be a pain to have both gas sources, unless if the CO2 would make a big difference in performance in the WE HK416.

I think I am going to go with the WE M1911, I don't like the SOCOM MEU M1911 since it has the Marine grips (not dissing them or anything), but I just like how plain the WE M1911 is. I am going to have the WE HK416 as a primary and the WE M1911 as a secondary. One website I saw said the M1911 is still used by the Navy SEALs and the HK416 is used by SEAL Team Six. I am going for a Navy SEAL loadout and if that is true about the M1911 I will be set and pretty happy.

Well, that stinks. I guess I could just use a standard US soldier loadout.

If your interested in the weapons you can use in a certain loadout, just do a PMC. They just kinda use whatever.

Agreed... Loadout specific items can be a pain. Especially for the SEAL loadout I am pursuing....

PMC will do for anything. PMC can either look professional (like MGS4 pmcs) or like blue jeans and a white t-shirt. Probably one of the most versatile loadouts ever.

Versatile to say the least. In fact, some of the best PMC loadouts ive seen are just civilian clothes, some nice replicas, and a vest with some addons and such. Really, a PMC loadout is whatever works for you, because thats what a PMC loadout is haha.

Sorry, to be a total newbie, but what is a PMC? Back to the Navy SEAL loadout I can't find a full metal gas blowback MK23 or P226. If they don't have any full metal gas blowback versions of these pistols I will go with the M1911.
