There are more versions of the G36C, depending on the maker, it can go in the Handguard ( Mini Type Battery )( or with the Enlarged Handguard, Large Type ), then there are the Butt stocks for large Type batteries.

That is the only place the battery can go. the stock is obviously not a option.

LW: Slob was describing the after market stocks. The one on Seabass' is wired to the back(I think).

maybe, but most G36C. Stock variants both TM and the cloners have the battery in the hand guard.

Sorry for any confusion, but that was the question.
Now anything custom like the G36E sniper or MG36 MAY, key word, MAY have the battery in that solid panel stock, just the battery would have to be a nun-chuck or custom fit. I highly doubt it. It depends because the G36 V3 Mechbox is wired towards the front (battery located in front of mb).

Given that most G36cīs are sold with the Battery compartment in the Handguard, depending on your handler the gun can also be purchased with the folding stock for mini Stick batteries, direct from the manufacture.
