| Hey, does anyone's team have a Special Operations squad? My team has one that I am leading and I want to know if others do this too. Our goal is to clear a hole for infantry to get into enemy territory. We are mostly CQB until I decide to get a mid range weapon. We also escort the medic. | |

| Uhhh I find the whole "Spec Ops" thing to be VERY misrepresented in airsoft.
Special Operations is an EXTREMELY broad term used to signify everything from recon to hostage rescue to just plain ambushes. Really in airsoft spec ops doesn't exist(in my opinion), because the real operators don't really have a set of rules that defines their missions. The only thing that makes special operations different in the real world is the secrecy level and the operators themselves that take part in the operations. Yes I understand that most of the time they a different mission requirements, but most of the missions are the same thing as what the normal grunts are doing. They are usually just in a different place at a different time.
Basically what I'm trying to say is you are probably looking for the word Elite, not special ops. Oh and your Teams mission statement as described above is more as what I would categorize as an Assault based fireteam. Which they also use in real life(USMC Force Recon/US Rangers). Most of the time these units also take a different role as well as being the 'tip' of the spear.

| We do different stuff though. My infantry is just on front lines, we are sneaking behind enemy lines and sneaking up on them. I need an alternative name if this is inaccurate. This name is mainly to keep team morale up. If I tell them they are part of squad B it sounds lame compared to they are part of special operations. | |

| I sounds alot to me like they are just regular infantry that does all of your flanking and other manuvers really they should have no real special name but instead just know that they are better at what they do and they train to flank instead of just be on the front lines. | |

| From you description, sounds like a Breeching Team,
Locate weak points, and exploite them.
Basic Infantry
Why would you escort a Medic ? He/she should be travelling with the C&C ( Command and Control ) element, normaly with the assistant Team Leader. Again, Basic Infantry tactic and movement formations. | |

| I have to agree with the others, special forces are teams that are sent in for recon of the enemy, taking out high priorities, and retrieval of vital intel, just to name a few. If your team provides these services than yes you could call urself a spec ops team. However I must agree with what sticks said. You guys are a Assault team. If its a moral issue then come up with a name and add on a phonetic alphabet to spruce it up. (Example- Assault Team Alpha, Bravo, Delta, etc.) Or u can call ur team a Fireteam, Firesquad, etc. and just add on something from the alphabet again to spruce it up. | |

| My Spec Sqaud consists of 3 snipers a DM a Heavy gunner and an infantry man all in ghillies. We are the head of our team and we go first and follow my Cerberus plan cut off three heads and then let my normal sqauds do the rest. I call our sqaud the stealth sqaud. Theres spearhead sqaud pillar sqaud and then sometimes wisper sqaud forms. But mostly wisper sqaud is broken up and members are placed into the normal sqauds. | |
