How do I make my A.E.G Quieter?

Subject: How do I make my A.E.G Quieter? Fri Apr 10, 2009 12:37 am

I have a MK5A4 RAS Full Metal made by Echo. It's LOUD when I shoot it, and I was wondering if it was possible to reduce the sound? Do Flash Hiders or Silencers Really help? Thanks

My friend has one of these. To make one quieter you could get a foam filled silencer and that would make i a little quieter or get a silent piston head. It wont be perfect but it will be a little better.

Well actually depending on what kind of airsoft gun it is . The answer could be as simple as tightening a few screws .

One of the easiest ways to quiet a noisy gun is by doing exactly what A_S said.

Also if you insulate your GB from the Gun Body, you can reduce the gun noise by almost half.

A Little electricians tape on the GB where it makes contact with the Body does Wonders, just make sure you are not insulating so much that you start to Stress the GB.

I'm actually talking about the gun being just plain loud overall, whenever i shoot it, it makes a loud noise and i'm just trying to make it quieter

My friends is also loud as anything. He can't quiet it down that much and hes tried very hard. The electrical tape does work very well though I did it on one of my guns it its uber quiet now.

Just anywhere around the gearbox to make it contact the body and reduce vibration.

Yeah that will work . Also a custom home made silencer would be much more cheaper and effective at silencing your airsoft gun , but it will reduce the fps .

Trick with the silencer is you need to have a longer barrel. So I'd first recommend getting a longer TBB, about 10 cm, or 100 mm longer than the one you have now.

well i just figured out i can't use a silencer anyway.. theres an orange flash hider on it aready thats i'llegal to remove soo.. yeah but i will try the electric tape on the gear box

It is not ILLEGAL to remove the orange flash-hider. It is illegal to sale or transport your gun without it on though. So just keep it around.

that they couldn't tell me to remove it...
and well I don't know how, so I guess I can't really use a silencer
the directions are not detailed at all, they just show pictures, so the manuals out of the way
by the way, I just Figured out, The gun i have is actually a VP5.

Yes you can take that off. Under it is a small orange tip only 4mm wide.

Dude a barrel extension would look awesome.

Actually it is illegal to have anything that suppresses the noise to a gun, whether it be fake or real. However you never have to tell anyone you have it.

So if you do decide to make a silencer shoot me a PM and i'll show you how. It takes that pop when the bb leaves the barrel out a lot.

wtf, no, it is not illegal for the owner to remove the orange tip. Who told you this exactly?

I am not familiar with this tip, but I know people who have it and DO NOT USE IT or just paint over it with like 5 coats of black krylon like they did for that photo.

So you tell them this, "another source claimed that is LEGAL to remove this orange tip, however they said it was ILLEGAL to have it removed while transporting or selling the gun"

airsoft G.I. told me they can't help me remove it because its illegal for them
it doesn't look like i can remove it anyway. Theres two screws (i think) that are REALLY SMALL and i don't think i have a philips head that small
