| Can you bump shot a spring pistol? Just wondering, not sure if this is supposed to go under tactics or not, but it could be good for a close range battle... | |

| Bumb shot means whenever you put your thumb in the belt buckle and fire a semiautomatic airsoft gun or real steel gun and turn it into a fully automatic weapon just look it up on YouTube people fire semi AK 47s and semi automatic AR 15s and put them on there all of the time . . Actually for this to work the weapon must be a semiauto matic weapon already and would not work with a spring pistol that must be cocked before each shot . | |

| Spring pistols must be cocked before you fire off every shot. Sorry =P
It would work with an AEG or Gas gun in semi-auto, though.

| No it wouldnt work for an airsoft gun . I am sorry that I wasn''t thinking about airsoft guns not having a recoil . Without the recoil you can not bump fire anything . | |

| Maybe if you placed your hand so you pull back the slide each time but definitly not as well as with a gas pistol. | |

| yeah, i agree it would have to be with a gas pistol to get it working right. A spring pistol would be too hard. | |

| Just a heads up for all of you that are thinking of attempting this yourself on a real semi-automatic handgun or rifle. Bump firing is not only extremely dangerous because of the lack of control over the firearm, it is also harmful to the action of the gun. Excessive firing can cause the barrel on your little 10/.22 to heat up, and because the gun wasn't built for high rate of fire and heat, the barrel will tend to...well...melt. As a competitive shooter and one of the youngest studying handgun trainers on the west coast, I have to advise against bump firing Bump firing and automatic fire, in untrained hands, can lead to death or serious injury. Trust me, i've seen it myself. Getting shot in the leg isn't fun, and neither is having to med-evac the 300 pound basturd who ended up getting shot! | |

| The way you "bump fire" is as follows.... First, the shooter loops their thumb through the trigger guard so that the back of his/her thumb is against the front of the trigger. Then, he/she loops the same thumb through their side belt loop on their pants. With the other hand, he/she holds the front of the gun. With the hand that's gripping the front of the gun, he/she pulls towards the target so that the thumb pulls the trigger. The recoil of the gun pulls the gun back, but the shooter's pulling forward makes the thumb constantly hit the trigger and keep firing. The guy in the video you linked does it differently since he's shooting a handgun. He holds the pistol by its regular pistol grip, puts his thumb through the front of the trigger guard, and pushes with the hand that's holding the grip to make his thumb pull the trigger. It's the same thing: the recoil of the shots makes the gun keep firing. In short, you can't do it with a spring pistol without modifications and/or breaking your gun. Also, you probably won't be able to do it very good with a gas- or electric-blowback gun since there's hardly any recoil to keep the gun shooting. | |
