| Subject: M1A1 to M1928 conversion?? Mon Jun 08, 2009 10:33 pm | |
| Hey guys, I have had a great strock of luck lately. So, my trusty Thompson broke in two places a few weeks ago, after three years of service. The internals are all doing great, but the barrel broke and the hop up unit is trashed. I finally brought myself to ordering a $40 junk Thompson off of Kapowwe's Boneyard. I lucked out and was sent a Fully functional, almost brand new Thompson with just a few small scratches in the stock. 40 dollars!!! So now I'm sitting here with a WORKING Thompson in my basement, yet its taken apart in quite a few pieces. I have several options, and this is the one I like the most: Converting my Thompson into an old M1928 Tommy. This is the best way I have found so far: http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/ProductDetail?prodID=11242I am not sure if this is the best idea or not, for several reasons: 1. It's out of stock, and I doubt it will ever be in stock.... 2. It says it's for the TM, and I have the CYMA (Still a great gun mind you) 3.It says "It needs to be modified to fit the product" I am not sure of they're talking about modifing my Thompson, the Kit, or what to modify, but I am not engineer or metal worker. They're very broad. If somebody knows how this works, whether its worth all that dough, a better place to buy this kit from, or a better way in general to do this, please let me know. | |

| Thanks for the quick response, Sticks. Like I said I have many options, and fixing it has of course always been one of them. I have a place I know if that I can get it done for a somewhat decent price, or I might just do the same Kapowwe idea. But That's only if it comes down to it; I don't see the need for two thompsons! (Though of course it couldn't hurt) Just the idea of an M1928 is awesome though.... | |
