| Hey guys, this is my first post here so please bear with me. My friend and I are huge COD players and want to get into the airsoft game, catch is we're both students struggeling to get by as it is. We've looked around and found some good deals on shady sites and found some HUGE prices on legit sites. Now my question is could I take a broken(cosmetic only) pistol and turn it into a functioning sniper. Our plan is to take the inner mechanics of the pistol, mod it and build a stock/housing around it. Does anyone have any tips or advice for doing so.
***I know this probably wont work, but its worth trying so please only respond if you have valid advice or comments***
Thanks guys | |

| Welcome to the forum, man, glad to have you aboard! It would help if you told me what sort of pistol it is and what your intended use for the finished product will be. Also, how is the pistol operated? Gas, electric, or spring? | |

Thanks guys I can see this project coming out to be more than what it would be to buy a decent spring sniper rifle. But I may be wrong...

| The pistol is a generic crossmen p36(just cheap ones my buddy bought at canadian tire for about 20 bucks). Our goal is to have a functioning rifle with a decent fps and accuracy. We have the means and supplies to build the body(dads a contractor so we have all kinds of stuff). We really just want to know how to mod the pistol so it shots faster and how to build the body around it. Like i said above we want to keep the pistols innered in tact jjust mod them to shoot faster/farther and hot to extend the barrle. Any help is welcomed.
thanks guys. | |

| Umm...
Building a remotely good rifle out of a Crossman is going to cost you more than a decent rifle that's already made.

| Just a Bar-10 length inner barrel will cost you $60 + shipping. If you have hardly any knowledge on airsoft as it is, you're going to have a helluva time making a rifle out of a CROSSMAN SPRING PISTOL.
I'm not trying to be a dick but I'm being true, honest, and practical... Just save your money and buy a JG BAR-10. It would be so much easier and save you money, the money you spend on all the parts and stuff for the handmade rifle will be wasted if the project fails.

| I am canadian(should have made stated that in my OP) and the cheapest rifle I have found here is about $350, most aren't sold to civilians from canadian retailers and purchasing one from south of the border just screams nightmare. So I guess we'll fly solo unless someone has some insight and would like to share. Thanks for your time. | |

| Hey, buddy, all we're saying is it will be a very, very difficult project. I mean, if you want to go as cheap as possible, try to fashion a stock out of a 2x4 and make a barrel out of some metal tubing. That's really all I can say. I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful | |
