That is a good idea but i actually already have the body, breach, and bolt assembly of the paintball gun i would be using. That'd only leave me to get some air lines, wires, air fittings, and the electronic control board. Most of that stuff i know where and how to get cheap except for the board which will run around $100 if i buy new.
I do think i've solved the sealing factor between the Hop-up unit and the guns breach though. I'm not even going to try if i can fit them inside inline. I believe since the paintball gun is capable of shooting a much larger and heavier ball at 300fps, even not being sealed it should have plenty of power to shoot a .20 6mm BB out of the Hop-up at very high speeds. Maybe enough to even warrant a drastic weight increase.
Edit: I'm estimating around $220 to get all the parts, base gun, and air source. Since for now i'm only working on seeing if the concept will work i can get away with a cheap $30 P90 and gut everything but the barrel and Hop-up. Also found a whole PB gun assembly with board, hoses, and fittings i can just drop in for a $100. So hopefully i can get the gun body and Hop-up inline without running out of room. I'm going to shoot for getting this thing assembled a little at a time over the summer when i have some spending money. Also will probably confer with a buddy who has an AS P90 to see if this will work.
