Since we're playing "what could they have bought with that much", I'd say they could buy nice guns with night vision for a fireteam of 4. That means grenadier rifle, DMR, team leader's rifle, and a support weapon, and still have $700 left over for shipping, mags, ammo, and gear for everyone (assuming they use "rocket" on Evike). I sincerely hope your friend knew about rocket. It would have saved him $525 off of that $3500. If he did know about it, my theoretical order would be down to $200 left over for extras rather than $700.

Some people don't realize that some things are expensive because they're status symbols. Not because they're the best or the most practical. This thing was meant to be a crown jewel in an epic airsoft collection.

He just bought it to outdo me. He knows I'm one of the few airsofters in the area, and he wanted to outdo me. But keep in mind, there is no "collection". It's just minigun. This is his very first airsoft gun. And rest assured, when something goes wrong, it will be me he brings it to.

He bought it from Airsoft GI
