| So today I had a hockey game (the Anaheim Duck's junior team...sponsored by rebbok and honda).
I was booted from the game in the 2nd period and was given a 3 game suspension for the following reasons in chronological order:
First penalty: High sticking Ok so heres how it went. I made a rush on the goal (it was a clean breakaway) and I chipped the puck over the goalie's head and smacked it in with my stick in midair. Now...the pr*ck of a ref decided that I was SOMEHOW endangering other players and 1) took the goal away and 2) called a high sticking penalty on me.
Second penalty: Roughing/Fighting It was a legit fight...the other guy was being a pr*ck to one of our younger players so I checked him and threw a few jabs...he hit back and we were both called on fighting.
Thrid and last penalty: "Insportsmanlike Conduct Since when has trash talking in a frickin hockey game been a bad thing??? I called the meathead I fought with earlier out on kicking me during our little brawl (who the heck kicks in a hockey fight???) and at the faceoff we exchanged multiple words. Honestly he said more...but for some reason the ref called only me on the penalty. Because it was my third, I was booted from the game.
Finale: So I was skating off the rink and right before I made it to the door, the other teams goalie started taunting me...so being a fair person...I broke my hockey stick over his head. Was tackled by the ref (who must've weighed like 500 lbs because that hurt like heck) and carried off the rink. Was suspended for 3 games.
Anyway...I think all these penalties were so uncalled for. Honestly, we're playing hockey for christ sake. Trash talking comes with the game. So does being physical (although I do think I went overboard by throwing firsts). As for the first penalty...I believe as long as the puck gets into the other teams net it shouldnt matter whether you kicked, hit, or headed it in. Seriously now...who makes these rules???
So anyone else have any dumb rules in their specific sport?

| Swimming has to quite honestly be the most retarded sport of all. There are quite a few rules about placement of limbs while swimming that make no sense... The following are my top 3 gropes.
1: Feet diagonal to the ground during breast stroke. 2: Arms during breast stroke... 3: turns....
Thats just a few...

sticks WTF? See...so many sports lose their core value: to score/win... It seems to me especially in swimming, as long as you make it before everyone else you should win haha.

| Stuff like that always happens in free-for-all PE days...
"Okay I made up this game" "Okay lets play" *one person scores* "OH YEAH I forgot to tell you, you can't do that. Score is 0 - 0" "Okay.... whatever." *person scores again* "Oh yeah, you can't do that either."

Thats when you pull out the remote detonator for the C4 plastique explosives you have in your locker during 4th period....

| Im a swimmer and yes, the breast stroke is quite a hard stroke because of that rule, some others, Both hands on the wall for a turn during Breaststroke or Fly, can't push off from the bottom (mostly for little swimmers) Two false starts and your out, you can't flip around during your finish for backstroke, just some of the ones that piss me off just a bit... Basket ball- players not playing must stay off the coart during a time out... and then one thats rarely called is Charging... I don't really have any for baseball because thats just a straight forward game | |

| Durkee, you didn't hit him in the head. You swung your stick and his head got in the way. You also didn't punch the other player, he stopped the movement of your hand with his face. Here's a nice rule we had for rifle comp. I think this was just a unit rule, but we were not allowed to drink caffeinated drinks the day before a shoot. If the SMI found out you drank a caffeinated drink before a comp, he would have you on elbows and toes for an hour | |

| hockey rules can be quite stupid.....
i play defense and I protect my goalie like a train full of gold. i saw a kid hacking at him 5 seconds after a whistle and i sprinted form the opposite corner and leveled him. i get called for HITTING FROM BEHIND! so i get 10 plus 1 and 1/2.....i sat the rest of the game out....
refs suck in maine....i have never play a game with fair refs.

| In MMA. . .
well there is the rule about. . .
. . . Umm. . .
. . .Oh I got it. . .
. . . You aren't allowed to eye gouge and bite people, those are about the only rules, but they definitely shouldn't exist.

| Well, actually you are also no longer allowed to kick an opponent in the groin, which was originally allowed. But yeah, those are about the only 2 rules of MMA. Today they match people up by size and the sport is a little safer, but still.
The ref can also stop fights now and give 8 counts, which they couldn't for UFC 1 & 2

| Of course I understand why we have this rule! I followed that rule to the letter! We had that rule because the caffeine will cause your hands to shake, and seeing as the bull is the same size as the tip of a pin, it is very, very, VERY easy to come off target. I was just saying it could get tiresome after awhile. When we had shoots against big rivals (Lacueva, Del Norte), we weren't allowed to drink any caffeine all week. I don't function well without my caffeine, haha | |

| We didn't have to. Since most of my comps were on the weekend, I would just sleep really well beforehand, hydrate, and listen to the Band of Brothers soundtrack before the comp. I just kept real mellow. | |
