| Hey guys, I have something to request of you. If you could, just keep an eye out for used Marine Corps issue Desert MARPAT blouse and trousers in size Large-Long and Extra Large-Regular, respectively. I would also be very appreciative if you could keep an eye peeled for an issue Desert MARPAT cover, size Medium. Here's a tip on identifying issue items. See that tag? You won't see that on civie-made. Also, as many of you know, there is are small EGA "watermarks" on the each item. Thanks in advance | |

| I have some a large-long blouse and large-long trousers... Not exactly your sizes but I wanna get rid of em. Also they were issued, my sister's boyfriend wore them at a USMC officer candidate thing a while back, but they don't have that tag | |

| I'm interested in the blouse.
Hmm... that's odd they don't have that tag. Do they have the little EGA on them? What sort of collar does it have?

| It has a Mandarin collar because it's an Officer's uniform.
I think I know why it doesn't have the proper tags. I did some research and it turns out that it's an older surplus uniform, rebranded by Schreck Wholesale Military Surplus and I think sold/given back to the USMC for the training weekend thing, I guess so they don't have to use the brand new unis on undecided candidates.

| Ah, okay, makes sense. Eh, I don't much like the mandarin collars. Sorry, bro. Maybe next time, eh? | |

Officers are given MARPAT with mandarins? I never knew that... Interesting.

| Excuse the double post
BTW, guys, another trusted manufacturer is Sekri Industries. I am not certain about Tru-Spec, though

| All ACU's have a mandarin collar. Enlisted and Officers get the same ACU's. If they didn't logistics would be a royal pain and there would be another reason for the enlisted to hate the officers . As far as the MCCUU's go, they do not come with a Mandarin collar. However I would not be surprised to find that a Marine modify a pair of combat only MCCUU's with a Mandarin collar. Heres the wiki on the MCCUU. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marine_Corps_Combat_Utility_Uniform NOTE: a few things are wrong with the article. Mainly that the US Navy holds the patent for the MCCUU and the MARPAT design, they decide who gets to wear it. That and MARPAT comes in 4 different schemes, woodland, desert, urban, and snow. Urban and Snow are only issued to units who are in that particular environment, where as woodland and desert are issued to every Marine.sticks | |

| Thanks for the info, sticks! Do you know what manufacturers are certified to make the MCCUU? | |

| Propper, American Apparel, and Sekri are the only ones that I know of. Although with the amount of Marines and Marine Cadets today I wouldn't be surprised if the Navy awarded a contract to some smaller manufacturers.

| Thanks, sticks, I appreciate it. Quick question for you. I've been seeing a lot of these style shirts in videos and pictures coming from Afghanistan, and I was wondering if you could tell me what the name is and where I could find some in desert MARPAT. I am very interested in buying some of those for the hot summer months here. | |

| Those are called "combat" shirts. its basically a BDU/MCCUU/ACU uniform undershirt with BDU sleeves. You are probably seeing the AOR1(camo for all of SOCOM) version: https://2img.net/h/oi42.tinypic.com/21o8rba.jpg NOTE, AOR-1 is a combat shirt, but in that pic he has the matching camo "vest" that covers up the "undershirt" portion of the combat shirt. You can see the gap between the combat shirt and the camo "vest" if you look close. Airsoft Smith just happened to start selling these in all the colors that TruSpec offers. Here's "Desert Digital": http://www.airsoftsmith.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=2255Hope that helps. sticks | |

| Sticks, I've got one last question, and then I'll quit buggin ya. What do you think about wearing the AOR-1 instead of a traditional blouse and undershirt? That would cut back on a lot of heat on the field, which will be in the high 90s and up to mid 100s. I guess to simplify my question, would you do it? | |

| I plan on picking up a few combat shirts for the summer months/late spring. I'm even modding my flight suit into two pieces because its made out of a lighter material... I'll post pics when I'm done(may be awhile).
So yes I am going to do it. It will certainly cut back on the heat, that was one of the reasons these blouses were made in the first place. I'm sure they would be very beneficial to you, especially considering your AO.

| Okay, thanks. Yeah, I think I'll pick up a couple of those, but I'll see if I can find them locally first. You wouldn't happen to know where I could get the vest, would you? | |

| I know combat shirts are also known as F.R.O.G (Fire Resistant Organizational Gear) shirts (mostly by Marines), so you can also search for them under that name. AOR-1 is actually the pattern used by NSW (SEALs and DevGru), not the actual combat shirt. It may just look like MARPAT but there is a difference: And since AOR-1 is pretty much exclusive to NSW, the only kind you might be able to buy are replicas if you can find any | |

| ROTC-kid: AOR-1 is the pattern in development for ALL SOCOM forces. There was a DEA/DEVGRU drug raid in afghanistan a few months ago and both the DEA teams and the DEV guys were wearing AOR gear and combat shirts.
But other than that you hit the nail on the head! great comparison pic BTW. +1!
