| Why did you hate it, Creed? I thought it was a "Watch your language" good movie. If you try reading the book as well, it helps a bit. The producers didn't exactly stay 100% true to the book. | |

| Ya I didnt like it because it was sooooo, how do I say, typical. It seemed that it was just another story about the war. "Who cares what is right just survive" type of thing. | |

| Ah. Well, keep in mind, that whole oil fire scene never happened, at least not underneath a burning oil well. And that Fowler dude was insane anyways; it surprises me it took him that long to crack.
There are parts of the movie that were just invented and parts that totally don't give credit to Swofford's book. The book has its DOPE straight because Swofford himself wrote it. I definitely think you should read it.

I definitely think you should read it. Another REALLY REALLY good book that everyone here should read is soldier X. I love it. The guy who wrote it, his brother was a German soldier in WW2, because he had just turned 16 and was forced to enlist, but his family is actually Russian. While he's on the front line, his base is overrun by Russian soldiers, so he kills one of them, takes his uniform, and poses as a Russian soldier for the rest of the war. And the best part is that it's a true story. The guy is now a history teacher here in America.

| Never saw the movie, my parents keep bumping it down on the Netflix queue. I heard it was good though, I'll devise some way to get it (like blocking my parents' internet ) | |

| It's one of those instant watch movies on netflix so you could just watch it without having to wait for it. Personaly i tend to stay away from movies that claim to be based on real events....so far my favorate thing I have ever seen is the intro to spartacus were it says this movie is violent and sensual to represent the time period of it. They must have had..what..30 gal blood? | |
