| District 9. Absolutely brilliant. I have to rave about it somewhere and it just so happened I was logged on I mean, great effects...story to match...and really, just one of those movies I will won't soon forget. Spoiler. I love how in the beginning the writer forces you to think the aliens are these horrible creatures...then as the story progresses you as the viewer are slapped in the face. I litterally felt bad about "judging" the aliens. Jesus chris that was such a great form of poetic criticism of mankind. Anyone else see this movie? If not, you need to watch it. My new favorite, hands down. ANYWAY!...other than that, anyone have any good suggestions for a guy stuck in his LAX Courtyard Marriot hotel room with Netflix? Watching Jarhead right now...already not really liking it...so someone give me a suggestion quick! heheh Cheers! | |

| Shutter Island was great! District 9 was too liberal for my tastes, but had good special effects. | |

| By the way, I also enjoyed D9. Watched it several times. Marley and Me is a great movie, if you're into those kinda movies....Or even if you're not I guess because I'm not. Just be careful; it'll have you in tears!
United 93 and World Trade Center were both great.

| Alright so soon after my post, I got sick of watching half-naked marines wrestling...so I turned off JARHEAD. Not my kind of movie...
So I went and watched World Trade Center. Real good. I love Craig Armstrong's composing, never knew he did the score for World Trade Center.
Then I saw Letters From Iwo Jima. Well, the first 45 minutes or so...then I got room service and I really couldn't watch that while eating, so I turned flipped through the TV and watched Burn Notice heheh.
Thanks for the suggestions, guys. That was the best marathon evah! heheh
I found a movie review in an old Time magazine...its called "Waltz with Bashir".
Its described as "An Israeli film director interviews fellow veterans of the 1982 invasion of Lebanon to reconstruct his own memories of his term of service in that conflict." So I'm like "ok...that might be interesting". Then I kept reading and I found that it is actually an animated movie! I guess they took the original documentary footage and drew over it...it sounds really cool to me. Anyone seen it? I'm going to see if I can find it on Netflix.

| Gran Torino, Dirty Harry, pretty much anything with Clint Eastwood in it is good.
You might like No Man's Land. It's a foreign film that's spoken nearly entirely in Serb (I think), but it's still a pretty good flick.

The main guy in D9 plays Murdock in The A-Team and he is the funniest guy ever!

| Avatar... Blech... I couldn't stand that movie. The best part was when humanity started moving through the jungle jackin' sh1t up! And then they died, and I was ready for the movie to end again. | |

Have to agree. Although my favorite part was when they blew up home tree the casualties consisted of 3,000 blue people, 15 caterpillars, and an entire factory of keebler elves.
