Hi, I was wondering some good guns to learn how to do upgrades on. I was thinking JG BAR 10 for spring upgrades, I haven't exactly made up my mind but maybe a SAW since I saw and heard that the gearbox is idiot proof. I haven't figured out a gas gun yet.
recommendations anyone?

gas guns are by far the easiest to deal with, easy to disassemble. easy to switch out parts etc, the list of pros for gas guns just goes on and on. the only real con is that they can be expensive ^^ I think for learning AEGs a simple m4 would be your best bet. they are very simple to take down and put back up. As for springers, or spring sniper rifles. i wouldn't know. but don't get a jg bar 10 to experiment on. get a lower end springer rifle (as jg bar 10's are getting uncommon these days)

The JG Bar10 is easy to install sylinder parts on, as well as hop-up. The trigger on the other hand is a female dog, same thing goes with most other M700 replicas. I have teken mine arpart for regular matince doezens of times but when I put in my PDI sears i tok me 2 tries ans about an hour of swearing and spitting for both.

so would you guys say to learn how to do gas gun upgrades should I start with a GBB pistol or non blowback or should I just get an M700?

Okay, if the mods want it, I am happy to oblige! I'll just list pros and cons.
Pros: -Very Realistic -Used by many Law Enforcement and Military Agencies worldwide as a training tool -Easy to take down and reassemble -High Accuracy -it's hard to go wrong with stock -easy to find upgrades, especially for WE and WA -Rifle Replicas themselves are usually around $350, roughly the same price as a CA, KWA, and Lower Priced TMs -Full Auto is roughly the same ROF as the replica's Real Steel Counterpart -Excellent MilSim Rifle -Has Recoil -Most makes are compatible with Real Steel Parts, with the exception of WA
Cons: -Magazines can cost anywhere from $50 to $30 apiece -You must buy Propane, Green Gas, and Co2 often -Upgrades can be very expensive -Seals can break in mags, then the mag is pretty much done for -Just a rifle replica and five mags can run you nearly $800 -In Cold Environments, replica can "freeze up" and not operate -FPS levels can be too high for CQB games -No way to bring down FPS -WA brand replicas are smaller than the actual size of their Real Steel counterparts -Low Capacity Magazines (50/30 bbs per mag)
let me see if I can think of any more.....

how is the 30-50 bb's in a magazine a con? i think its great for conservation and great to reach the milsim aspect! i personally love mags that are as close to realism as possible. sometimes i will only load the real amount of bb's in a magazine as there would be in a real steel version both for my AEGs and GBBs

I love it myself, but I think a lot of people consider it a con. There's a reason they make hi-caps, haha

meh.... im not impressed by their stuff... Big brands names just always annoy me too. because everyone thinks its the best, but they do the same thing as other non-brand or lesser known brand names

I think it's already been said, Accordion, but I'd say just a standard JG M4. I did my disassembly/upgrade learning on my Echo 1 M4, which turned out okay. I'd just make sure to look up some videos on what you want to do; I believe ASGI has some nice disassembly videos, as does Evike.
