stupid fail of an idea

okay, so I was out camping with some friends at my friend's ranch this weekend (had a blast. mostly just played airsoft). the first night we were there, me, my friend and his cousin asked the other guys if they wanted to play manhunt. there was a big loop in the road through the ranch, probably about a mile long. we three said we would go hide somewhere along that road and the rest of the guys (there were maybe ten or thirteen) had to make it all the way around the loop without getting hit. they said that sounded good, so the three of us headed off with nothing but our guns, two flashlights and my night vision monocular. we went maybe a quarter of a mile around the loop before we stopped.

we put this big spotlight in a tree shining right on the path and then walked about fourty yards further up and crouched down behind trees on both sides of the path. my friend's cousin was spotting for me with my monocular. first thing I did was hold in a "watch your language" when I couldn't see the crosshairs in my scope. so I had cameron (my spotter) give me back my monocular and just went and laid down in the grassy field along the path with my pistol. after about ten minutes or so of waiting I heard cameron behind me whisper that they were coming up the path. so here comes a group of about eight of them right up the middle of the path waving flashlights and making a ton of noise. they stopped when they saw the spotlight in the tree and one of the guys took it down. cameron and my other friend caleb let them walk about five more yards and then opened up on them. cameron actually got all of them except two, who got away, because caleb forgot to plug his battery in when he put it in his gun. I never fired a shot. after cameron finished with them, I heard someone firing at caleb from my left. he didn't know I was there, but bbs were whizzing right over my head. as soon as we heard him leave, we took off out of there. we figured that they had the rest of the guys right behind them in the trees. we walked about another quarter mile and then set up the same way as the first time, with me laying down in the grass and the other two behind trees on either side of the path.

after waiting for about twenty minutes, we finally decided to move on, cause one guy was wearing a full ghillie, and we thought he might have passed us in the dark. there was no moon out, so it was probable. we ended up walking two miles around the loop in pitch dark. they were supposed to leave a lantern at the start of the loop and the guys that were out were supposed to wait by it. when we got there though, the lantern wasn't there and everyone had left. needless to say, we were pretty steamed. we ended up walking back to camp. turns out that two of them that weren't killed had also walked around the loop. they said they won, but, seeing as the objective was to get to the lantern and the lantern wasn't even there, we said no, they didn't. so, in short, no one followed the rules of the game, and we walked two miles in the dark for nothing. it was annoying. we played president in a river bed the whole morning the next day though, so it all turned out okay.

yeah, saturday morning we played kill the president in a dried up riverbed. two assassins, three bodygaurds and one president. every time one of the assassins got hit, they had to move back towards the end of the riverbed and set up again. that was tons of fun. then we played with one guy in a deer blind and three of us attacking. he held out for a long time, but his mag finally ran out. other than airsoft, we swam in the river and jumped off a rope swing into the river. the last night we were there, four of us went out in one of the trucks (I got to learn to drive a standard ) and chased rabits. lol! it was a blast!

Yeah sounds like fun man. especially the president game

you bet it was! I'm thinking about going out there with caleb and cameron to make up a weekend long operation. the ranch is like 1200 acres. I know we could just sign up to go to an op, but if we did it at the ranch, we could make our own objectives and bunkers and stuff, and make all the rules. plus, we'd probably be driving most of the time, and we could probably play where you're allowed to shoot at the ppl in the truck!

That would be pretty amazing.
And you could play man hunt in vehicles and on foot =)

Yeah the Ranch was alot of fun. We'll have to do that again.
