So I have pretty much suppressed my whole gun, except the motor, it is the only thing on my DMR that makes noise, and it is loud.... It there anyway to suppress the noise of the motor?

adjust its height, using an allen wrench. just be careful not to lower it too much.

Here is an extremely poorly lit/ bad quality pic from my cell! Will get a better one tomorrow probably..

Motor. Loud 06170010

The charging handle was unable to fit in with the G&G upper receiver and the new gearbox, so I had to take the metal and grind a bit of it off to make it fit, also, the connector is a tamiya for the back of the GB so I have to get a new full stock to rid myself of the wires showing. Will have that on the 27th of june and I can get some more pics for you. Charging handle is currently not shown.

If you are willing to take your replica apart a bit, you could try wrapping the interior with some cloth. It may not be the best option with airsoft replicas, because Ive never tried it, but cloth will help absorb some noise.

I would do that alex, but there is almost no space in my rifle to squeeze any cloth into, I think I might need a bigger pistol grip... But I am thinking now of replaced to upper and lower receivers... I just need to figure out how to get my RIS off it and onto a new one.

A larger grip is most likly not going to solve your problem, the Motor Cavity is the same size, regardless of grip.

Some DYI´s to try, cover the outside of the motor with electrical tape, run the tape length wise in strips, do not wrap the motor like you are wrapping string, the motor will be to thick and not have the required play inside the grip.

Foam Rubber spacers at the front and back of the motor, inside the Grip, 1/4 inch thick. 1 at the motor neck, the other aroung the motor base but below the Grip Cap.

Might I ask how the electrical tape will help damper the sound? And I do see how the foam would work, but I do not think there is enough space for it, the motor is in so tightly now that I do not even need a shim to keep it in place.

The electrical tape acts like an insulation blanket around the motor, it dampens the sound slightly.

Motor Shim ?? If you are talking about the Spacer Disk, I sure hope you are using it.

I haven't been, it is a very tight fit in my grip already, if it is needed though, I can, what is it for?

The spacer disk moves the Motor Body, Forward, when adjusting the Motor height, if you are adjusting the Motor Height with just the Allen Screw , then the screw is putting added pressure on the Motor Accumulator ( Axel ), adding added stress to the motor bushings and axel, during long fights the axel, due to metal on metal contact will heat up, possible damage, Bearing over heating, Coil insulation melt, Solder Point melt down, Motor Burn Out.

We are talking about the little metal disk that magnetically attaches to the side of the motor correct?
