| I was just sorta curious: does anyone else shoot trap (clay pigeon shooting). And if so, do you shoot in competitions? | |

| Yes and yes. When I lived in Georgia, I went to state competition at 12 or 13 years old Haven't found any competition or teams over here in Washington, but I still go out skeet/trap shooting regularly. | |

| Yup. Shot competitively when I was a tween...but there aren't any decent leagues around anymore for my age group. | |

| Did it once with friends and had fun and my brother got a shotgun last month and is looking for a place to do some trap shooting. I prefer target shooting with rifles and pistols though. | |

That is trap. Skeet is when it shoots from the side, trap shoots them straight out away from you. | |

| Well not completly, what I shoot are targets coming from a mixture of directions. Sorry my first post I meant Sporting clays my fault. | |

| Thanks. I got 4th in my group. I did decent but I was really nervous so that messed me up a lot but I ended up relaxing. My partner wasn't very good so that brought down our 2 man team average. (we didn't choose teams.) It rained most of the morning but for most of the dad it stayed humid and cloudy. Everyone this year got a door prize I ended up getting a Gander Mtn. hat and 25 12 gauge shells, which I am happy I got because I needed a hat for shooting. I got my vest finally it isn't the nicest vest in the world but it is better than what I had. I got a certificate for 4th place but no plague, but I really don't care because I head a great time, learned a lot and it was my first year. Btw on one of the stations one of the clays comes right at you. I hit it and I was reloading, I heard people yelling but couldn't understand them. (hearing safety) BAM! I get it in the face and by the shattered clay. Didn't get hurt but I was stunned for a second. | |

| Phredryxun, what group do you do it through? State comp was hard, but i got second out of my group, which wasn't too big. I practiced a bunch to get up to that level, though. | |

| I am not 100% sure but I think it is a youth program statewide. All we really have to do is sign up through our local place which is the team we are on. There was a very little turnout this year just 50+ I believe. Sorry I don't know all the details. | |
