seriously guys! your not even providing helpful information. he asked a simple, innocent question, hoping for a polite answer and you're bashing him! kinda gives this forum a bad name, wouldn't you say? @gentry actually, DM is different. a dm usually uses an aeg modified to shoot more accurately and with farther range.

| But it's irrational. Making a decision off of one dude's words just because he's a Marine? FFS | |

| Alright, heres the deal on Airsoft 'Sniping'. First of all, your not a real sniper. You don't have the weapon for it. Because of this, your best hope is to keep on the move, and find places of concealment when taking your shot. As soon as you take your shot, either be as still as possible and hope they don't find you, then get out of there when a chance comes about, or just get out of there ASAP. The best airsoft sniper is NOT going to be the guy with the fancy gilles suit that sits in the leaves and doesnt see a thing during a game. The BEST way to snipe is to get a spotter. Now, obviously your not going to use real spotting tactics. The role of an Airsoft spotter is just to have a second set of eyes (And weapons xD xD). Basically, he's there to look for targets you don't see, and to watch your back while your shooting. With that said, the best way to snipe is to go around with your spotter and take shots that an AEG couldnt make due to range, noise, etc., or find a stretegic point from which to shoot. Examples of this would be a busy path, entrance to a bunker, etc. Places where you know you can get a hit. You and your spotter must work as your own airsoft team if you want to survive. Now, all these tactics will be best during MilSim events or longer ops. I discourage use of airsoft sniping anywhere really, but sometimes they can be a helpful asset if used correctly. Now theres a few things you should remember while 'sniping': -don't push your limits. Even if you've made a shot similar in distance before, missing it could mean you give away your position to your target. -It's best not to stay in the same place a whole game. Move around to different hot spots on the battlefield (Ex. Bunkers, Paths, Roads, etc) -If you have a radio with you, make sure to use it. One of the main roles of a sniper is to provide intel for other members -And most importantly, your a member of a Team! don't just sit there waiting for someone to wonder down the wrong path! Be a productive member and help out(i.e. GET KILLS)
Well, thats all Ive got to say on Airsoft 'Sniping' although it is much closer to being a marksman or DM...

Well, thats all Ive got to say on Airsoft 'Sniping' although it is much closer to being a marksman or DM... wow....that was a perfect summary of airsoft sniping seeing as you argue so strongly against it. thanks for providing helpful, comprehensive information. I have one thing to say about a spotter (a couple things actually): make sure the spotter can move around quietly. make sure they understand that their role as a spotter is mainly to protect you (the sniper). someone who has had some experience as a sniper makes a great spotter because they know exactly what you might want them to do for you. - DrummerBoyz95 wrote:

that's not the point. I agree, a marine sniper won't be able to help him much in the realm of airsoft sniping. but he asked it because he expected/wanted help from the members of this forum. he probly would've been fine with you telling him he's wrong, as long as you did it politely. however, you were sarcastic. you also didn't answer the main question he asked: "anyone have some tips on sniping?" hence, you posted a sarcastic, rude remark that was neither helpful nor kind.
