Crazy Thought

So i was just thinking. What is Allies made a huge team like every active member joins this team, I mean most likly we would never meet each other. but just some type of regement deal you guys no what im saying? idk it might be one of my crazy ideas or it might work please post veiws

No we might never meet but i mean make a regement like evikes got you know your all on a team but a squad ( your team) could live in southern cali when another sqaud (different team lives in maine ) we never meet but we are a regement/team

We could call it "The Allies" and each division could be known as say "The Allies SoCal Platoon" or "The Allies Denver Company" and so on.

That's actually what the AFU (Airsoft Fanatics United) was intended to be. But it hasn't gone off the ground in that regards. It would be easier to do with a forum because you already have a lot of members, etc.

right there drummer hit the nail on the head we all are a platoon but we break it all down and hey you never no two allie squads might be playing at them same field giving you an excuse to work together. theres only a few people here and there but add them up thats around 500 people on a team plus there teams members also playing im estemating 800-1000 people right there all on the allies team

thats why im trying to get the allie forums to do it we all play people have guns and teams its a growing site

Also for specialized units (like SEALs or something) it could be "The Allies SEALs 1st Div." etc

right there people are getting the hang of it i think this will work we have everything set we just need everybody that want to participate see whats going on

Not only is this idea good. but it can get sponsors and that affects this website altogether.

if i can get a team made up i will talk to the city mayor next satuerday at work and see if i can get him to sponser my team then make a patch or somthing to show im playing for allies then that should help make the site bigger

Cool idea guys. Im a member of 'I Play Airsoft'...kinda the same idea, just in california. I would be more than willing to take on the task of forming a Socal branch should the need arise. Mike's got TAC 327 covered and my milsim team split up cuz of college so I have lots of free time on my hands

Nice to have you as a member and yeah just get a team in socal or something do whatever just represent that you play for allies

I recommend you send the Admin a email. If he makes a go of it then it would be freaking epic and we can add some regiment forums.

Hello airsofters! It's been great these last few days reading through all the posts and getting caught up on what's going on with you all. I apologize for not being on as often as I should, but I've now graduated from college, so I have a little more spare time for airsoft and the Allies forum. I hope you all can forgive my absence.

Anyway, moving on to the question at hand. I've received a few messages from my moderators and members (thanks Lonesniper) about this thread now. Sticks has really been great helping out with this topic, so thanks to him for handling the situation for me when I couldn't.

It's been proposed that there be an "Allies" team created, countrywide (or even globally for our British, German, etc. members). I personally like the idea, but due to liability issues this forum can't endorse a team to that size. There would be no way to hold formal tryouts or discuss with individual members rules and regulations, nor get a solid idea of the maturity level of each. The reason these are so important is b/c for a team to remain united and well respected, it has to ensure each member acts maturely at events, on forums, and gives the team a good name. Otherwise the team will be labeled as a below-average team that's not to be taken seriously. And obviously the vast majority of members on this forum are mature and worthy of being on an "Allies" airsoft team, but how do we distinguish those players from those that would reflect poorly on the team? Running a real team, as I've learned from personal experience, is a very difficult task to take on. It requires serious organization, maturity from every member, MONEY, and regular times spent together. This is the only way a team will survive. I know I sound negative and the last thing I want to do is stifle your creative juices or be a "party-pooper," but I can't risk the name of Airsoft Allies, nor do I have the resources to help run such a large team. It's a great idea, but in my experience running a team that large would be too difficult and unorganized to be effective. If you guys want to start a team on your own (without using the Allies name or association), then that's obviously cool, and I'll help here on the forum in any way that I can, but again I don't think this particular idea will work right now.

However, I've been thinking lately about having Airsoft Allies patches made. That way we wouldn't necessarily be a team but still associated with each other. For example, if you saw someone else with the patch on at an event and you decided to work with each other, you could technically be "on the same team." This is a weird analogy, but being a team is like a married couple with commitments to each other. What I'm proposing with the patches and communications on this forum is closer to being "friends with benefits." In other words, there are no liabilities or heavy commitments this way. What do you all think? I mean, all sorts of airsoft forums and retailers have their own patches - why don't we?
