Would it be possible if I could rewire my G36C with low resistant 18 AWG Speaker wire my family used about 3 years ago on a surround sound system for our house? Or do I specifically need 16 AWG? Would there be any reduction of current using a 18 AWG?

Reason I asked is I just read a post recommending to use speaker wire.

...SLOB!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

If the wiring will fit in the GB you can use it, the problem is that most Speaker wiring has a real thick insulation coating.

What you really want to try to achieve is the largest diameter wiring possible, the larger the diameter the less resistance.
Speaker wire also has the added benefit of being a low resistance wire, some things to watch out foe when using it,

Make sure you do a good soldering job, Speaker wire is real fine, and all you need is one strand to make contact with the GB shell and you could spend hours trying to track down the problem.

The insulation on the wiring is normally a Teflon base, making the cable more flexible, but easier to damage, slip of a screwdriver, pinched between the shell halves, eaten by the pinion gear Laughing , Added care is is needed, but the benefits are worth it.

Good Luck and Happy Tuning !!!

Thanks man, much appreciated.

Now since I'm somewhat familiar with the size of the 16 AWG since it is on my battery, the rest of my gun had this really small crappy wire, IDK what gauge it was. So rewiring my gun should take away several of the problems I've had with the gun.

Im more worried about the body, mag well in particular, pinching the cable than my pinion gear Laughing V3 FTW!

It´s possible to make a cable canal in the grip when you use larger guage wires, if your hands are steady enough you can use a drill with a long drill bit, but it goes better with a Dremel Wink .

If it comes to that, fortunately I have a dremel and a steady hand.

Just don´t remove to much, only enough so that the cables fit.

Well again if it comes to that, I'm not interested in messing up another front assembly right off the bat Laughing
