| I am rather new to airsofting and am realizing that i didnt get the best airsoft rifle and want to do some upgrades but am not sure if they would be okay as i play at a field with a 400 fps limit on all guns. My gun fires at approximately 315 fps on a stock barrel and i was wondering if any one could tell me if adding a tightbore barrel would increase the fps to over 400 fps or not? | |

| What airsoft gun did you get first off. And no a TBB is a accuracy upgrade. If you want to upgrade FPS you will need a tighter spring.
This means you need to also insure your mechbox has metal bushings. Your gearbox with the right bushings should be able to take a M120 at most. When you begin looking into M130 + you may need a reinforced piston and more torque. (You can increase torque by purchasing a hi-torq motor or Gearset). If you get a motor, get a TM EG1000, hi tork. If you decide to use gears, get a set of CA steel hi-torque ratio.
Upgrades also depend on the gun you have, so any information on what type of gun you want to upgrade can help a lot.

| Theres your problem. Dude plastic gearbox=shitty gun. A TBB is not going to fix that, getting a new gun will. | |

| Classic Army's are very good base guns to work off of. Tokyo Marui's as usual too. | |

| eh I prefer KWA over CA. CA has major piston problems when you increase spring tension.
Try the new 2009 KWA's when they come out. their supposed to be borderline perfect because they fixed all generic problems with their hop up.

| Yeah I was thinking about grabbing the MP7 theyre coming out with. The only reason I would choose CA is because they have the ArmaLite trades and not juts KWA in huge letters and when I upgrade something I plan on redoing all the internals so the problems would disappear anyway. | |

| Its a step up but guns like JG and some E1 do not last long without some upgrades. However these upgrades can be as simple as bushings. However the wiring in my recent JG's has not impressed me. The wire is either too thin and cheap. Ive gone through more fuses than I care to count on the wiring system. I had to rewire my entire gun with 16 AWG and Dean Connectors. And now it shoots like a good little demon | |

| Not really because you would essentially be spending the same amount of money in the end. You would actually save money getting a higher end gun than upgrading a JG or E1. Trust me, I tried it, its more trouble than its worth. I'd rather have bought a high end make than upgrade the piece of trash I got. | |

| Save your cash, donĀ“t go dumping it into a Plastic Bomber.
Later when you buy a better gun, you can invest in tuning and you will benefit more, and enjoy the gun all that much more.
