Can I upgrade a M14 to be a sniper?

Some what. A good class for you to possibly follow would be a DM, or Designated Marksman. You sometimes move along with your squad....basically your a standard rifleman who has given up mobility and ROF for accuracy and range. You stay back at longer distances and try to pick off targets or lay down a base of fire or just try to keep the enemies heads down as a DM

If i were to be a DM what would I need to upgrade my M14?

The same componants as listed above . But might I suggest something to boost you ROF ( rounds of fire ) in fully auto as well unless you want to completely disable the fully auto and use it strictly in semi . But I wouldnt do that if I were you .

So a stronger battery? But won't that hurt the gun?

It might just ask tank what happened to his Echo 1 M4. But a stronger battery something like a 9.6v will probably do you some good it will make your trigger more responsive and your ROF higher. If you get a 9.6v make sure that it can fit into your stock before you buy it. Ive used the 8.4v that came with my Echo 1 M16 since I got it and it has a ROF and not to long trigger pull.

Doesn't a bigger battery hurt the gun though?

It might just to be safe I would just use the battery that comes with the gun. Or you could just get the same 8.4v which is what most guns come with.

No im pretty sure only an increase in voltage like going from a 8.4v to a 9.6v. An increase in mAh will increase the number of shots you can take. So a 8.4v with a mAh of 1500 can shoot a total of about 3,000 shots. If you get a 8.4v with a mAh of 3500 you'll be able to shoot about 7,000 shots.

so i should see if i can use a 9.6 volt battery?

I would ask about but it may do you some good and it may not. I would stick with the 8.4v becuase your a DM and a high ROF isent really nessacary becuase you'll probably being useing semi-auto the most.

Yeah those should do you best for upgradeing a M14 to be a SASS. Im sure if you ask the guys at ASGI they could give you better information and will probably be able to help with your upgrades.

Ya you'd have more luck talking to a sales rep at ASGI. Just go in, tell em what you want to be able to do with your rifle, and they'll come up with a list of upgrades for ya.
