Building a V3 gearbox Empty
PostSubject: Building a V3 gearbox   Building a V3 gearbox Icon_minitimeWed Jul 01, 2009 10:54 am

Gentlemen,
I need your help on this topic as I'm a little lost at the moment. (Also please excuse me if Im posting in the wrong place, I'm still hecka new at the forum schtick)
I have an extra V2 gearbox (it came out of my homies piece o' @#$% wellfire r Cool and I wanted to upgrade it to a V3 (steel bushings, metal shims, etc) as a back up or as a "suped up engine" to drop in my G36K. My question is: it has a very different selector switch set up as opposed to that of the stock G36's, so can I simply change the selector switch to that of the K? Or will I need to get a whole new selector switch setup?

Please help me out as, yes I am an FNG.

Thanks in advance comrades.

You will need to buy just about everything new. Just look at the shape of the gearbox, as they are completely different. The only item that would work are the gears, but I don't know why you would want stock well gears? This project will run you out of cash, and I don't recommend it to someone who has never opened up a gearbox. Try watching some youtube on the subject of the v3 gearbox.

No V2 gearboxes are very different from V3.

The shell and design is different. Any brand and quality M4 will use a V2 design gearbox (unless it is modded to use V10 the dust cover blow back).

The V3 is only designed for the following guns
G36 all variations
AK all variations
AUG all variations
MP5k

Ok, so let me make sure I'm clear: the V2 gearbox is a complete waste then, and I'm better off just using the G36K to death and upgrading it when it has a failure. (correct?)

Maybe I'll just use the V2 gears in one of my RC cars along with the motor. I would put the R-Eight back together, but I doubt anyone would buy it.

Well, thanks for the help guys.

'Preciate it!
