A Scenario For You

UPDATE!

Boise has become Stalingrad. Chinese soldiers are fighting house to house with armed civilians for control of the city. In an act that shocked the world, the Chinese have detonated a small nuclear device in Salt Lake City, and fallout is heading east, carried by the jet stream. Three divisions of Chinese armor are en route to Kirtland AFB in New Mexico to secure nuclear materials there. Chinese airborne units have been dropped into Dallas, Houston, and Austin, Texas. Chinese amphibious units have landed in New Orleans, where resistance is quickly crumbling. American units are now arriving from overseas posts in the East, and are gearing up to head West. American bombers from Colorado Springs and Minot AFB in North Dakota are pounding Chinese forces in Denver daily. UN troops have landed in DC, preparing to move west and act as a peacekeeping force. Various Private Contracting Companies run amok in the plains states.

It now comes to you. What do you do locally?

scratch going west, head to the Coast of Maine and hop a ride to Newfoundland (northern) and settle in with the natives.

I'd put my camies on, grab my K-pot and MOLLE vest, pack my ALICE pack, grab my gas mask, and then load up my SKS and Mosin-Nagant and grab ammo. After that i'd probably run to the nearest gun store and try and get at least more ammo and a pistol followed by hitting up a place for a little food. Then finally make my way up to the front lines and start fighting and probably acquire better/more weapons/gear once there.

run from rockies and head to canada blend in with natives and have a nice day till they attack canada, then go to europe!

I think around this point, out of trust in our European allies, we'd start recieving massive foreign aid from the UK, Germany, and maybe a few others.
After all, we did rebuild that continent!!
Hopefully Canada would step in too.

I would seek safety in Canada seeing as i am pretty close to Canada.

My step dad was told by a Canadian lieutenant that the Maine Nat. Guard could wipe out all of Canada's armed forces........kind scary if you think about it. looooooooooooong story.

Strangely enough when I was with my girl today we were walking past this mint '69 camaro in her neighborhood and we decided that if we ever run away together we would steal it as a getaway vehicle. So my plan is the same with the addition of remaining mobile in the camaro. Let fate and the 427 small block duke it out.

If China had detonated a nuclear device anywhere on the US. The US would have launched several at China.

The war would be over right now, due to China no longer existing, and their forces not being able to receive help.

Also, in retrospect, You must realize that not a lot of countries have the resources to launch an overseas war. . . China would have to end this war ASAP using nuclear arms right away. . . which we would respond in kind.


I must admit, I don't see the scenario as reasonably happening.

Edit: Not to be a fun sucker, or to say it's a bad scenario. I just don't see it as reasonably possible at this point in time.

I agree entirely...its hard to think of responses to something that's practically out of the realm of possibility.

How bout we do some small-scale "action/reaction"?

Such as:

You are in a position on a ridge 300 meters from an enemy position.
You are armed with a rifle of your choice:
-M16 (w/ ACOG sight)
-M14 (w/ telescopic sights)
-M4 (w/ reflex red-dot sight)

You have no other weapons/tools.

The position consists of a squad (4) of lightly armed insurgents (AK-47's and 74's) and 2 white trucks with mounted RPK machine rifles. The trucks and mounted RPK's are facing away from your position. The gunmen are standing around the trucks smoking.

How do you go about displacing or destroying the OPFOR?

Note: Just an example, didnt think it out all that much

Bah.... alright, let's do what Durkee suggested. I'm tired of having to think out a Chinese invasion, haha.

Am I alone..?
I'd take the M16/ACOG. I'd try to see what they are guarding or looking for, and if there's a possibility of more enemies on the way. After a while of watching/listening and making sure they were in fact enemy insurgents, I would disable the trucks one at a time by shooting their tires. Then I'd take out the riflemen who would most likely be either shooting blindly in my direction or running away.

I would probably choose the M14 just because this is more of a job for a DM. I cannot larger RPM shots of 5.56 effectively at all for short distances, forget 300M. I would not waste my time picking off the technical's tires... A truck with dead people on it cannot inform the possible reinforcements of my possible position, however those fleeing insurgents could definitely inform others of my whereabouts.

1: take out technical's gunners. Anything that shoots a bigger bullet than I can at that fast RPM scares me....

2: try to shoot the insurgents from farthest out to closest. This would give them the impression I was shooting from a different position as well as giving me greater chances of getting them before they can run and inform.

3: try to dispose of the trucks/salvage any supplies I can from them(water, gas, ammo etc).

Thats about it, just a little 5min plan I thought up...

Nope!

My mind and knowledge is telling me to take the M14 then choose the highest ranking three and then find the highest ranking three near eachother.

I figure once they hear the first shot they will be stunned. By the second they will start to move and then I will have gotten the third if possible. Then I would disengage and evade to safety....very fast!

How would you be able to tell who is the highest ranking? It's not like they're gonna have "Hey, shoot me, I'm in charge" written on their turbans.

As soon as you shoot one the rest are going to scatter for cover...since thier behind a truck the shot could only come form that direction so thier gonna go to the other side. [Try to find the leader if you can...possibly the one at the center of attention]

unless they saw you, or have some of the US army tech that tells location of a sniper ( I forget what it's called) they wont know were you are...and since thier weapons aren't that accurate they wont know were to aim

Soooo thier going to have to go to the big guns or run, if they go to theguns thier nice and open for you to shoot at them, you take your next shot and 2 are gone...maybe three if thier stupid...and four if thier very stupid.

if thier smart thier going to try and run away...which leaves you with another shot as they try to get into the trucks...so you should have all 4.

Next go look for any intel or what not and hazah


This is pretty simular to what some units faced in Vietnam..I forget what thier called but thiey would insert a small team into a village and they would train them as a militia, Once a Warrior King is a exccelent book on this if any of you are interested.
