| I have and still will recomend the TM M4 for anyone. If you want ROF do not go with the Echo 1, the wiring and the motor are crap on it. Besides that the gun is pretty solid. I would really check out a G36(full, K, or C versions) if you want something light, again TM is my personal choice but the Echo 1 or a CA will do you fine. If you want to go with DTapps WW2 theme: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_113&products_id=3027By far the best AEG I have ever shot: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_33&products_id=1349Its a little heavy. Just compare it to double tapps' SOC 16. Its all about which style you like the best, there's very little difference between the performance of the different models(that you would notice) so really just grab what you think looks the best. sticks | |

| Well gonna throw in my 2 cents , 500$ to start with, not bad . Newbie plus 500$, Bad ! From expierance I can tell you to leave the SCAR alone, the dissasembly alone will sour him/her to Airsoft, The M14 is a great suggestion, reliable, well built, durable, just stay away from A&K, the gearbox has a life expectancy of around 3000 shots. The ``M´´ series is a great start for any new player, most of the models come standard with a good ROF, and FPS, later when it comes to tuning, internaly and externaly, the parts and options are like sands on the beach, Endless !! ( exception being ICS ) The G36, is also not a bad Idea, depending on the model, JG makes a really durable model, most fields buy these in bulk as rentals, due to their reliability, low maintainance, and they just take a licking and keep on ticking. Personaly I would recommend either an MP, or ``M´´ series as a first gun, later when he/she is fully addicted to Airsoft, and it is time to start tuning ,these guns are a really good place to start when it comes to learning about internals. Just some food for thought slob212 P.S. As we all know, 500$ may sound like alot, but once you are hooked, that amount of money dosn´t go that far, once we start tuning 500$ is gone in 10 minutes. Then you still have to buy your equipment P.S.S. If they are available in your area look into the Deep Fire M4, all reviews, and comments that I have found reguarding this gun are positive, what could be better than to have a rifle that you can tune to M150, and all you have to change is the Spring, everything else is rated to that amount of power. | |

| In my opinion i would go with a m4.The m4 is a great style of gun that i belive fits me perfectly.I don't have anything agaist ak's,but the feel for an ak doesnt fit me.Ak's have the 600 round magazines which is the highest i have seend for an ak.The m4 has a drum magazine that you can buy and if you dant want a drum mag it has a 300round magazine. So,if it were me i would go with the m4.The gun you are looking at looks great. | |

| Really I would go with the AK. The AK has a longer barrel A full sized stock(not S version) A better hop-up(main component in range, not FPS) Indestructible mech box Relatively cheap mags and character flexibilty(how many terrrorists are running around with an M4? how many USSF are running around with AK's, probably more then you would expect). no I'm not a M series hater . sticks | |

| Yeah i also agree with the price of 600 round ak mags i found one for 10$..Compared to 30$ for a m4 mag but hey 500$ u never know. | |

| Hey guy/gal whos looking at for a new gun, so am I! (whos not) Check out my post in the "which gun" catagory and its called "$140-220 12 guns 400fps this will be a battle to remember". I got 12 guns listed & linked on there, and from what you were saying you wanted in a gun, 1/2 of them may just fit what your looking for. Some very nice AK's, and M-type's there. As everyones saying they got parts for these everywhere so its hard to go wrong. I also found this MP-style http://www.airsoftpost.com/matrix-full-metal-full-size-airsoft-rifle-free-p-28373.html for you which should fit everything you said that you were looking for in a weapon. Its metal, and has a red dot & a foregrip RIS rails, takes a large battery, & claims to shoot 400fps, and its $155! Heh If not, again MP parts are pretty common as well. Plus the MP style is just a blast to run around with! In my opinion that'd make a great first gun! Plus its cheap, so you can ease into airsoft without having to scare the crap out of yourself every time you bang it off of something while running around like a maniac on the field with your new gun on full auto!!! I got a TM MP5 RAS upgraded to the max from UNCompany in HK so it shoots harder/slower now, but still only around 330fps, and I have to use little batteries - which sucks! Were talking $350-400 end product. Im thinking of getting one of these for myself just so I don't have to baby my MP5! Just my thoughts, & hopfully I helped you out a bit. Oh yah, and don't forget to check out my post I mentioned above, help ME out here! Heh | |
